Regular M42 combat jacket with straight edge pockets, it has been suggested that the jacket with the straight edge pockets is a fake, however, photographic evidence exists that shows both the straight edge and scalloped pockets being worn together in the same photo. -

This one is an unusual one. I believe this jacket is transitional jacket from the M36 to the M42. This is an all police green jacket including the collar and cuffs, conforms to the M42, but unusually it has piping around the collar and down the front of the jacket, which conforms to the M36, the jacket is also fully lined as the M36, the back of the jacket is also cut the same as the M36 with the 4 seperate panels. A one of a kind jacket transitional M36-42. -
