This is an odd bar which is interesting as it has a Lenin centenary medal mounted on a five sided suspension....could have been put together but has a well worn consistent look...

This other nice little pair often makes me wonder if they did not survive the war...no victory over Germany?

That's a great photo Rick...especially as all the other photos I have seen with para badges show them worn on the other side.

This is a nice early Para badge....ironically the soviets pioneered military parachuting...but this seems to have been lost to history...
A 1931 badge which shows their early achievements.....try and find a German para badge this early!

hey ralph, no expert on badges, but the commando badge is just that, not SAS, the third one on the page looks very similar to a territorial unit, i was familiar with in the 1980's "the mercian Volunteers" who were later re-badged as The Cheshire Regiment. may not be they definately had the romanoff eagle thing going. i believe that all religious "ministers" are referred to as Chaplain in the British Army, difficult in civvies to work out if they, vicar, father, minister et al
lovely collection by the way, cheers for showing
cheers
Yes, I agree about the Commando Badge...the S S on it refers to "Special Service" as Commando Bde's were first designated...however due to the SS connotations it was dropped.
i.e 3 Commando Bde was once 3 Special Service Bde.

His Doc with complete list of group..

I was offered a Bogdan 3rd class nearly six years ago for the extremely high price of 600 dollars (well I thought it was then)
He then offered all his other medals and doc for 100 dollars...turned out he had a Pat war 1st and 2nd class, Red Banner, two Red Stars and a Combat Service medal.
Nice little group this, hard to find Bogdan's let alone as a group...guess I had a lucky day.

Wouldn't It Be Nice... Research "Someday"

I don't normally buy larger groups without documents but this bar had two orders of the Patriotic War 1st class and two red stars...these I will definitely get researched and I believe worth taking a chance with.
