The MIC's are a bit hit and miss-some have all sorts of information others the bare essentials
Ancestry are also a bit hit and miss and seem to have large gaps in what they hold
More cards are appearing as are the pension records/burnt series-not sure when they'll be complete though

Hi Guys
Hope this a fantasy piece-appears to be too over the top for a real piece
Confirmation that this is a made up object would be great as someones trying to sell it to a friend of mine as real

Hi Chet
2 AM is indeed airman 2nd class and you probably won't find his MIC unless he did time in the army first. RAF cards are held at Hendon. I can have a look through a book and give you an idea of when he enlisted if you want

Gentlemen,I know this is supposed to be easy but I need some help. I have a BWM named 97089.2.A.M.J.KELLY. R.A.F.
I bought this "out in the wild" with nothing to refer to. I never know the abbreviations and for me this could have meant Air Marshall. I now think this is 2nd class Air Mechanic J. Kelly. I put this into the search page for the index cards and I do not get a name and service number match. Kelly brings up 82,000+ names so that is no help. What am I doing wrong? There were three possible matches under air mechanic Kelly but the service numbers were wrong and no others were listed when I looked at the details.
Thanks,
Chet

Machine Gunner-named
in Germany: Imperial Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Personal Equipment
Posted
Hi Guys
Got this picture of E*** like it cos it shows the machine gunners badge and has a name attached Leo(?) Kaczmarek- did a check on Volksbund.de and found no casualties in WW1 by this name. I did find a Wachmeister KIA in 1945 born 1894-do you think it could be him?-how common is the name?
