This is an interesting uniform to say the least. It is black like a Fedayeen but has the Republican Guard triangles on it. There are those that say RG commanders were seconded to the Fedayeen to lead. I have no confirmation of this. What I do know is that I obtained this uniform too cheaply to have been made up as a souvenir. The shoulder boards are for a Staff Major General and are just fantastic quality, the triangles and all other insignia are totally proper and sewn in the right places. Here is a nice woodland pattern camo made in Iraq. It has matching camo shoulder boards, the rubber rimmed M80 helmet molded in tan, an Asian made chest pouch, and Republican Guard plastic triangle sleeve insignia. Here is a 2003 style camo that seems to be almost African in origin but is made in Iraq. This Colonel wears the later style ballistic helmet with mesh cover and has the gold pinback jumpwings on his breast.
