    1. Not artillery, but here is a monument that was near the Green Zone in Baghdad. I really liked the look of this one and have often wondered if it survived and what exactly it was for. My guess would be the Iran War, but it could be Desert Storm as well. Scott.
    2. I think this is a rear door of a BMP, I can't remember now... Anyhow, it will look good in this thread. Scott.
    3. Althoug these are not specifically police related, I thought I would add the picture to show some different styles. I will try to do better individual pictures one day if there is interest in a coin section. Scott.
    4. I think I have posted this before, but I thought I would add it to this thread. This is a challenge coin I received in Iraq from the FBI.
    5. Hi Mervyn, While working in Canada at CFB Kingston I received a challenge coin from the Canadian Military Police Regiment. It is not enameled so not as pretty as Ed's but yes, the Canadians do have them. I received it as a form of recognition for service performed to the regiment. I would assume that they are done in this manner in Canada. I will try to post a nice pic for you. Scott
    6. Just a side note. They were partially buried not long after the ground war ended as they were hit with DU and troops were always climbing on and around them. The pics I have show them with DU written on the sides for everyone to see. Scott.
    7. I know this set of tanks quite well Joe! They are located on what was called Camp Slayer in 2003-04, not sure if it is still being used as such... I have a crewman's helmet from one of these and a few photo's as well. They are on film, so I will have to scan them when I get time. Very nice pics, thanks for sharing. Scott.
    8. Sorry, I don't collect DPRK but I am sure there are those here on the forum that can help you. I just posted a few things that I was aware of regarding your question. Good luck, Scott.
    9. There are many answers to this question, certainly there are reproductions being sold as in just about all areas of collecting. I also know of an ex-collector of Imperial Japanese items (Warren Sessler), who was instrumental in bringing in many great Japanese items in the 70s. Mr Sessler is said to have moved to China, near the border of the DPRK and he deals in DPRK militaria and medals. So perhaps some are being brought out by him and others like him. The Chinese are active traders on many auction sites so it's not unreasonable to see them selling DPRK items. As for trades and exports, the DPRK exports weapons to many countries like Burma ( I refuse to use the other name), Iran, and formerly Iraq to name a few. So there are a few ways that items come out. I am sure there are many more. Scott.
    10. Awesome pics Kevin, you have made me happy today! I love the combat/field stuff Scott.
    11. While a bit sad, I would venture to say that most of our collections would be much smaller if it weren't for the disinterested family members of the veterans. Great pics Kevin, still looking for the odd combat/field uniform shot Scott.
    12. It's about two hours south of Mosul if I recall. I am sure many things have changed since 2003 but I think you are nearly right across the road from this place. If you have to out out on the MSR, try to get an updated look. Scott.
    13. Lorenzo, If I recall, this base is very close to you at Camp Speicher. We were told that this was the Iraqi Armor School and it was located right across the road from an old refueling point/logistics area that was part of Camp Speicher in 2003. I have some very similar pictures of this gate somewhere, the problem is they are not digital... Scott.
    14. Here are some APC's being taken away by the Egyptians in 1991. Scott.
    15. Another non artillery piece, but this is for Dan. This is an Iraqi T-62 after the battle of Khafji in Feb 1991. It is being hauled away by the Egyptian Army. So maybe other countries liked to get their share of trophies as well . Scott.
    16. I have posted this before, but this BMP and AA gun are supposed to right where the Iraqis left them in Kuwait City. They are on the outside of what is now the Kuwait National Museum for the 1990-91 Gulf War. Scott.
    17. While at war with Iraq, this is the type of ZSU-23 I liked to see . Scott
    18. Hi Dan, Thanks for the nice words, I can't speak for all installations but I know that Ft. Benning GA has several artillery and armor pieces from Desert Storm, as does Ft. Riley KS. My unit brought home an anti aircraft gun for the armory after Desert Storm. During OIF we were told we could get one piece per battalion. The problem in my unit was we were from 5 different states... So I don't know if the BN HQ got anything or not. Thanks again and I will see if I can find more pics to share. Scott.
    19. Hi Lorenzo, This insignia is from the Tennessee National Guard. Scott.
    20. How about some "light" artillery. We had to haul these out to the eod guys for destruction. What a shame Scott.
    21. Not really artillery, but here are a couple of helicopters being hauled away from Baghdad International Airport in 2003. Notice the Republican Guard triangle on the one on the right. Scott.
    22. Here you go, an Iraqi self propelled gun that was located near MSR Tampa in 2003.
    23. I will look and see what I have Lorenzo. Scott. By the way, did you mean to say "remnants" in the title?
