Very cool find! That capture paper really makes it an extra cool one! You should post this to gunboards.com in the Japanese section.

Right ,
I,m unsure as how to approach doing the collar tabs i will look for the thread on this , there is light bobbling on the inside of the collar and cuffs so i think it has been worn a little .
I have 2 general qualification clasps grade 2 & 3 would they be ok to use ?
Also have an academy badge i assume this is the right one :
All in all it's a very nice tunic

Hi all,
just had a question, i bought a KampfOrden in gold and there was something i am not shure of. The white enamel circle around the center is more of a graish blue, is this right or just a variation?
Here is a view of the reverse.

Cabbell2207 - Looks like Uwe and I have taken over your thread.
Uwe - Nice set of pilots hangers, I have all but the Red 4500, 5000 and the Blue 13,000 & 14,000. Unfortunately mine are a mix of the hangers for the new and old pilots badges.
No thats o.k. i'm learning, nice items speedytop

Cabbell2207 - Prawema was the maker of all NVA badges. They kept on producing badges after unification to keep their workforce employed. I've been told they were still selling badges as late as 1993. They also made restrikes of a number of older rarer badges. In the case of the late issue badges like the Master Pilot the badges produced during DDR time and after are nearly identical. Kevin
Thank you all for the info. Well i must say i learned something today, knowledge is the key

It's true that the around 200 Meisterklasse Pilot's badges that were issued didn't have hangers. However, this badge came out very late, in 1988, close to German Unification. So it's entirely possible that Prawema produced a number of these with hangers just before or after Unification (Wende).
Is there any way to tell Prawema from original issue medals and badges? :banger:

Hi speedytopHi cabbell2207Sorry, but do you really think, that both top specialist for DDR orders and decorations, Frank Bartel and Klaus H.Feder write (and talk) nonsense?
Frank Bartel: see the text in Post 6.
No awards with hangers .
With hangers it is a later production, post DDR/NVA.
Uwe
no you misunderstand me you are right i'm mearly saying i have not seen this.It has nothing to do with any author.

Hi,
in my opinion the Meister (M) pilot badge is not original, the original ones are without the hangers.
Please see the Bartel catalogue from 1998, No. 781 "Stufe M (Meister) ohne Haken auf der R?ckseite"
Regards
Uwe
i havent seen any eveidence that they were not worn with hangers, it seem it would only make sence to see how many flight hours they had also.

Hi cabbell2207,
Deutscher Sch?tzenverband (D.Sch.V.) = German Shooting Association
Grosse Auszeichnung f?r Schiessleistung = large decoration for marksmanship
Different classes, often with a hanger or more for the year(s) of the award (see the two holes at the bottom).
Regards
UweThanks for the great info

Hello Gang,
I recently picked this party flag up at a local antique store, What's interesting is the swastica is stiched on the white circle wich in turn is stiched to the red flag. Now it gets interesting, the arms on the swastica are not even like on other flags i have seen. Has anyone seen this before? I did a burn test and that was o.k. sorry for the bad pics i have it folded in a display case because it's around 6 feet long and 3.5 wide. thanks all

Well, that was a pretty neat weblink. I never realized how extensive the bunker systems were.
Saw one of those concrete bunkers in the Dresden war museum years ago, they were used for air raids built late in the war.
