    1. thank you Gordon for the update, the book sounds huge like Torpedos los. much success

additional question and thank you for the response about those two ships/Talleys.

the U-Tenders were they individually in place for individual U-Boot Flottille support ? hope this makes sense. In other words 1 Tender per Flottille or ?, depending on the theater of ops ?

      again thank you

      Erich ~

    2. An interesting list and quite useful for some areas but like several others it seems to be based on the assumption that for each ship there actually was a tally ribbon. I've yet to meet a serious tally ribbon collector who believes in a Bismarck or Tirpitz ribbon and some of the U-Boat Tender ribbons listed didn't exist.

I think we'll have to wait for the Wedeking & Bodeux book for a really definitive and accurate study.

    3. Bob

sounds like the PK foto I have of him with Raeder and B?tow placing the Ritterkreuz around his neck. Klaus signed the front and back for me in Silver pencil. Klaus is wearing his earlier Minenabzeichen and Zerst?rerabzeichen badges besdies EK I and his Spainish Cross.

      Great pic

E ~ I'll try and place here and complete the set of fotos and text from him besides put up a M?tzenband of the 2. Schnellbootflottille that I own and it's Begleitschiff.

    4. Paul your latest acquirements were from Weitze possibly ? I am proposing that the latest may have been the gold gilt thread faded but Gordon and John should give their input on this one as I am fairly new to the collecting of the KM bands myself. Mine are all the Gilt wire, several of them faded to the interesting darker copper and green tones.

if I understand correctly the gilt wire may have been private purchase and as well pre-war and that the yellow cellon and cotton pieces were war issuant ?

      E ~

    5. Indeed Gordon and correct, I have another very sharp photo of T?niges one of the best I have seen with a very clear signature in black on a white base bottom, will try and get that photo downloaded soon.

a shame really but many of the KM personalities used a blue or black pen over their tunics and the signatures are very hard to discern. case in point is Horst Weber of the 3rd S-Bootflottille, later the 1st Schn.Bt. Division.
