The Arabic document (though small) seems to be upside down.0 -
Does anybody know what the large cross with ribbon on the funeral pillow might be? The one above it is the Iron Cross First Class of course, just want clarification on the one attached to the large ribbon below it. John
I think the same thing, in another pic of different angle on the matter of a spanish-german bar, one could appreciate more clearly that is a Hungarian merit cross commander... and the Medahuia Breast star...

Aha. The right title and the right person KNOWS.
EXCEPTIONALLY beautiful Order-- one I've never seen before.
This guy was probably on the Armistice Commission 1940-42 in North Africa, back and forth from Spanish to French Moroccos.
"Casablanca," anyone?

I'd have to say based on no match anything even close that it's a fake. The too light stamp, bad browned paper, no-such-person "signature".....
Well, that?s a little dissapointing. What can one make to buy something that?s would be trusted... ??. No evil eCrap this time...I think it was a known seller...but I can?t remind their name...
Again...Thanks for your expertize...

Looking good, personally I would toss the flag out and get something more suited to the EK as a centrepiece.

Hello. I?m out of my deep on the document matter. I?ve a EKII doc.&cross awarded to a feldwebel of the 31 Pz.Reg. (5th. Pz.Div.) dated December 1939, is signed by the Generalleutnant but Don?t seems match with the name of the teorethical CO. at this moment, Max von Hartlieb genannt Walsporn. Any way to a link on the german general signatures???...
Thanks in advance.

Jeff,
I have not yet decided how to "distribute" this. If there is some interest I will copy it to cd as a pdf file for a nominal fee at some stage.
webr55,
they are generally in order of name and again sorted by rank. There are actually four full pages of Schmidts!
Here are some awards on the non-combatant ribbon.
Regards
Glenn
Great!!!!.
Please consider me to be on the waiting list and I agree beforehand on the fees.
thanks again

Hello Dave and Kevin,
You are speaking about two possible ribbons for the Signum Memoriae: red and half red/half white. Is this ribbon a wrong one, or is it a Hongarian issue?
kind regards,
Jef

Considering the first image is being sold as a fake by what seems as a knowledgable eBay seller it's worth is less than an OG3, especially since the number seems to have been messed with.
Some idiot will bid 300 on it. I hope it's not you.
edit: That was kind of harsh on my part. I in no way mean to imply that you're one of those folk that bid on obvious fakes on eBay. I apologize for even briniging that up. I should not post while enjoying Saturday evening libations. I am sorry.
Don?t be worried...Luckily I?m not bidding on it...I ask before as is the case....
regards to all of you

Try the antiques market in Covent Garden on Mondays. Steven Wheeler of Cecil Court has a stall there. Other stall holders also have medals & various items of militaria.
Enjoy your trip.

It's never fun to find out that someone you knew and trusted may have pulled a fast one. I'd like to think that the fellow who sold it to Doc didn't know either, but that's speculation on my part. The only thing I will add is the quality of the enamel work on the example shown by Doc doesn't seem up to a level as this example of the Grand Cross I just found on the net in only a few seconds:
Yeah!! It seems that if this is made New (as it looks) by the National Polish Mint, they must have some guys in training. Not a good job already...as you say, for a high (Highest??) order. You can Look at the Orders in the old palace in Warsaw and you can?t even be in doubt anymore.
Sorry...that happens to everybody, sometimes...
