    1. I didn?t take enough time to study your cloth one so I can?t comment on that.Expert or no expert I take sides with Mr.Hansen on this issue, yeah do good shots of your dotty one and so will I with my not so dotty one and then we should be able to compare.

Why is there not even a sentence on those in any reference book?Again I?ve seen what happened to Hawkeye out here,I don?t want to leave this place through the roof,so I hope I didn?t offend anyone.Anyway I wouldn?t touch a dotty one nor take it as gift. These are not dotted ones but dotty ones to me

    2. Thanks, time will tell......I can specify my question a lil more.....I might have the chance to get a Silver Cross with swords. The piece has the typical L/13 shaped pin but no L/13 stamp. It is only stamped 835.I am still waiting for pics I will post once I got them........

    3. I made a mistake I have to apologize for. What I labeled as honeycomb seems to be "coat of arms" in reality. The maker I speak of is Meybauer. So my question should hence be:Are there 835 Meybauer crosses?

      Regards

    4. Hi,

I am just getting familiar with SC and wonder if the maker Lemcke is a good one.I find reference on him in Nimmerguts book and Niemann has a pic of one in his.I have seen 800,835 and 900 stamped crosses by this MM.Isn?t that a lil odd,one with so many diff contents?

      Cheers

    5. I haven?t finally decided what I will do with it.I will ask the stein-freak about his opinions on the fake invasion and it?s detection.I asked you a few questions on the first post of this page, you can call them test-questions in a way,but you didn?t answer them.A good one should have the following characteristics among others that might vary due to size and fabrication.

To whatever state the stein is from exists a corresponding colour-pattern and symbol(Prussia:Eagle). The Prussian colour-pattern consists of red, white and black. When the symbol is holding a star like mine, this should resemble the insignia of the unit the stein was presented to.

Additionally there is this ball with the glass holes on mine. You can look into these holes and you must see whatever the unit is connected to.On mine you can see a locomotive. This is somethin I am pretty certain you won?t find on fakes. The name of the recipient has to be on the name-list asiding the holder. And finally the initial trouble-spot -the top. This has to be darker on the outside than on the inside. In regard to markings I am unaware myself, but those on mine should be considered as linked to the production process instead of a warranty-sign from the maker.

      Regards

    6. Hi Rick,

I did get in touch with a Stein-expert,who told me mine is good!I cannot comment on the characteristics he chooses for assessment but he also shows interest in buying it.This is his answer in German:

Hallo Herr xxxx, einen sch?nen Reservistenkrug haben Sie da geerbt. Er

ist eindeutig echt und als Betriebsabteilung auch f?r Spezialisten als etwas

      seltener

einzustufen. Vor dem Euro wurde so etwas um die 2500.- DM gehandelt. Habe

selbst einen ?hnlichen, w?rde aber, wenn er zum Verkauf stehen w?rden,

      Interesse bekunden.

      Mit Sammlergru?

      Harald Busse

Anyway thanks for your help on this!If you hadn?t woke me up I wouldn?t have felt the need to clearify.

      Regards

    7. Thanks for you effort in replying!Still, I am not convinced.Maybe it?s because of mine having a different pattern of design. The pics you show don?t have a connect to mine IMO.Anyway you seem to have knowledge on these,so let me ask something, although I usually don?t get answers on this site.....the thing you can see in post #9 is letting one look into the glass where you then can see a locomotive,is this common with fakes? The name the stein is given to,can be found on the list right-side of the handle, again is this a common thing for fakes? And finally ,any pic you posted seems to share a pattern of design,I can?t see one there that has a partial area like mine with the "hopfen und malz.." saying.

      Regards
