    1. Damed BMP attachments! Anyhoo, it is on a Kav-piped serivce tunic, named to Rittmeister R----, Rick. Tunic has insignia for a Major, so I assume a promotion. The carpet matches the drapes with regard to tailor's tags, et al. Don
    2. Rick, I am in the information gathering and negotiation stages for Naegelsbach's tunic, belt and breeches. Trying to nail down as much information as I can before I get overly excited. Don
    3. Andy, thank you very much! I would never have been able to get that out of that name. Don
    4. Rick et al, I don't know if this will help but he apparently topped out at Generalmajor in the second World War, in the first WW he received the Ritterkreuz 1. Class of the Sachsen Albrechts Order mit Schwerten and the Ritterkreuz 1.Class of the Hausritter Ordens von Hohenzollern. Promoted to major 24.12.17, #25. Actual wording in case I screwed it up: Hiezu befördert mit Patent v. 24.12.17 Nr. 25. From November 9 1917 to January 24, 1919 he was 2.Gen Stbs Offz beim Gen. Kdo I.B.a.K Don
    5. So it WASN'T just me! Thanks, Rick. Let me see what else I can find on this gent. Don
    6. Gentlemen, as always, any and all help is much appreciated. As an aside, is this script considered Sütterlin, or is it something else? Don
    7. It looks to me like the Gefreiter on the far right and the well-fed NCO near the middle with the cigar are wearing M40 tunics - or else their collars are a much lighter shade of green. I wonder if this is indeed a mid-war shot. Don
    8. Very nice tunic! It's funny, but of the few legit WSS officer's tunics I have had the opportuntiy to handle, two of the three were Medical and the other was a Veterinary Untersturmführer. Don
    9. Very true! As I have a lid-less Recruititng Waffenrock, I shall continue to think of it as Recruititng! Don
    10. It could also be for recruiting - either way, excellent cap! Don
    11. Gents, I try to put all my named tunics up on mannequins if possible as a small gesture to these men's memory. Here is Colonel Mette:
    12. Hello - I am pretty certain this is Medical - cornflower blue. The Dragonerblau for TSD is pretty distinctive, while medical shades are somewhat all over the map. Beautiful cap, nonetheless. Don
    13. Mette died in the POW Lager in Reval, Estonia in October, 1945. Money truly can't buy yoou everything... Don
    14. He was a major in December 1940 - the tunic also came with a Christmas decoration with his name on it with the rank of major. I have to wonder if he was "connected" - either party or Heer friends in high places. Or he may have just been a hell of a supply officer... Don
    15. Last name only, Mette, dated 1939, tailored by Eduard Meusel, Halberstadt. Don
    16. Thanks, Hardy - Unfortunately it looks like the company did not survive the war - I cannot find any current records for it. Here is Oberst Mette's M36 tunic, tailored in 1939:
    17. Thanks, Rick - He is in the German graves registry as a full Colonel. Could he have been a reservist? The photo I have of him shows a Stahlhelm pin and HK with swords boutonniere ribbon - it is from a hunting lisence he held pre-war. Don
