    1. I'm posting this for a friend (Vesuvio) who will soon be a member here ..

He posted this elsewhere but , it was suggested that he try this Forum as well.

Marcus did see it but suggested we also hear from some Imperial Collectors .

To me ..I like the tight "grain" on the leather but , I've never seen that Logo used on a Spanish Cross Case ..

Thanks for helping him out gents.

    2. :Cat-Scratch: That is a wild souvenir-- does it say who he mailed it home TO?

"Hi ma! I always figured you'd like one of these...!" :speechless1::speechless1:

I agree  ..he must have sent it home in another box because there are no shipping labels on the case.

Maybe he thought he could turn it into an Alram Clock ?

As far as a "War Souvenir" , these are out of the ordinary but an interesting story behind them.

    3. I?ve had one of these for years but , Just bought another one today ! Unlike my first one ..this one is complete including 3 capture Papers and the Manual (serial numbered to the device)

For those who aren?t familiar with them , The Feder was a Time Delayed Clockwork Detonator adjustable for either up to 10 minutes or a maximum of 21 Days.

Years ago I remember reading how as Units would pull back (Eastern Front), they?d choose the nicest building that was still ?habitable? and rather than burn or destroy it ..they?d dig out the floor and place Hundreds of pounds of explosives with a Feder 504 set to detonate anywhere up to 21 days later.

They?d also plant a few smaller explosives in the building so the Russians could easily find/remove them and think they were safe.

As they continued to pull back ..they?d destroy all other buildings leaving only the ?nice one? with the Feder ticking away ..in the hopes that a Soviet HQ or Officers would make it their Home.

    4. Thanks guys ..I Emailed the Owner and relayed all the Info and ..He was blown away at what you all found.

      He appreciated everything.

      He also said --

"Though it hasn?t been in a ?damp basement? while in my possession I?ll admit I haven?t treated it like a priceless artifact either. It?s been standing in my closet corner. Any suggestions as to how it should be stored? "

He respects the Blade a lot more now that a connection has been established.

      Thanks Gents

    5. Thanks for that.

Unfortunately, I've been really tied up with work and have not had a lot of time for the Hobby ...had a phone call 2 weeks ago from a Gent about 1 hour from me. He has a box with 6 Daggers and a bag of "Natsee Stuff" (NY accent) ....he wants me to drive up and make him an offer but , I can't get away right now.

I did get a great RAD item a few months ago from a good friend ..I really like the out of the ordinary Unit / Service "Souvenirs" so , I was glad I got it.
