    2. Rick, there is a little info on Strey in O'Connor's series, and I have some documentation on his career, which included two stints with Jasta "B" in 1917 and 1918. There is a fantastic group photo of him with such luminaries as Bernert, Baeumer, Frommherz etc. He was a Hauptmann in 1940 as well.

VtwinVince: Do you have sufficient material to establish an aviation service record for him?

      Thanks, Rick

    3. Hi Les,

      Thanks somuch for your help,

I was hoping that Signature would be someone I can Research.

I done the dive and brought the Doc lot-I'm guessing I will not be dissapointed.

when I get the group I'll try and post some pics of interesting pages.

If you do find any more info I'd be very gratefull.

I'm guessing my next purchase will have to be the sanke card of Pechmann.

      thanks again

      Glenn.

Glenn can you now (since you bought the items) reveal S's full last name. I got the Karl Heinrich bit.

      Thanks, Rick

Thanks Uwe, that helps clear up his post-war career.

      Yours, Rick

    5. This was filled out, quite vaguely, for the Field Artillery Regiment 23 association some time in the 1920s. But maybe it will help with first name and birth data.

      Hermann Fechner

Born 7 June 1896 in Barmen, Protestant. Currently Dr.(jur?) in Barmen. Son of: Justizrat Rechtsanwalt u Clara Huth. Graduated from a Gymnasium. War Volunteer. Gefreiter in Ers Abt/FAR 23, Unteroffizier & Vizewachtmeister in FAR 92, Served in Fussartillerie Batterie 407. Middle of 1916 to Fliegertruppe (red scribble appears to say "Bombenflug.") . Leutnant (dR) der Fliegertruppe. 1919-22 Student. 08.05.22 Referendars exam. 16.02.23 Dr. Exam ........ (illegible to me!)

Awards = Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class and Observer Badge.

Thanks Rick. Sounds like a new name to me, I'll have to double ckeck him.

    6. Today I crossed 3,000 combatant ribbons done and 500 noncombatants.

I have found ONE more Offizier-Stellvertreter-- an infantry one this time.

254 pages done, 79 to go. Am at about October 1917 but every month I get forward, they keep retroactively entering clumps of awards from months earlier. I know looking ahead into 1918 there are some there from 1916!

Keep plugging away, it'll be soon be finished (then on to the NEXT one) :D R.
