      Picture of William in his NG coast artillery thanks to Del state police Museum ! He was a trooper 1n 1924 of state highway dept on feb 1 1942 he was named superindent and captain of state police and was a captain in the NG with in a few weeks of taking over the post with the police he recieved orders from the army

      I think you do pay a premium for African American considering units were segragated up to the early korean war era !

      Hello in the 30s ww I wounded vet could recieve the PH not until 1942 did the US issue them to KIAs all KIA families recieved the Purple heart engraved with the KIAs name it continued up to VN not sure if current KIA families get an engraved Heart ?

      Here one i kept from my WW II hearts KIA Yellow Beach Makin Atoll Nov 16 1943 165th Regt landing crafts became stuck on Reef AROUND YELLOW BEACH BECAUSE OF LOW TIDE the assault waves had to wade ashore 250 yards Edward was killed when he stepped off landing craft into shell crater/ deep water and drowned under weight of his equipment 27th Div lost 58 KIAs taking Makin
