They're all in Battushig's book, I think.

While this is far, far, outside my area: Is there no way to put a stop to this ongoing desecration of history?!?!? Sickening, absolutely sickening.

These CB stall plates are pretty common on auctions and sales from real dealers. Removed over tine, it seems, trashed, and flogged away.

Very interesting, Igor. What documentation do you have for the "VIP" standing of this award? There are many things to be known about this medal, but without some documentation we have serious problems sorting it all out. We now have three varieties (maybe). Thanks for posting, Ed

Nice and powerful images. Thanks everyone!

Some things are best left in the past...
But the pre-1917 past?!

There is HOPE that Federation forces will not be global objects of ridicule then.
Any more than they are already?

When I have the time, I'll start disentangling this thread to grant some coherence.

Yes, Rick.
Putz, pitiful, pitiable, Putin.
Is that a declension?

No . . . Paul . . . this will do . . . and VERY nicely.
Apologies for off-forum post, but I have been directed to:

Are there any good dealers in the US of British medals (as broafly defined)? Not as I know.
FJP Auctions has nice British material at times (especiually nice in their upcoming auction). But, like any auction, they get what they get, Brit-wise.
Otherwise: Usrual (in Canada), Burman (in the UK), Dixon (in the UK), and Liverpool (in the UK). And, then, the auctions, DNW, M & E, and Spink (and others). Auctions for the 'good stuff'.

So true. Yet the 'normal price' is pretty high these dark days?
Personally, I still seek one.

Brunei =/ Bahrain
Neither is Belgium nor Belarus the same

When I have the time, I shall take these threads apart. One to Southeast Asia, one to stay here.

Awards from Brunei
Interesting. But:
Brunei has nothing to do with Bahrain.
One Southeast Asia one Arabian Gulf.

Good luck, let us see results, if any . . . .

Ed, why is it "very, very unlikely"? Is this your own experience with researching by name?
Yes, my experience, but I have had mixed research experiences over the past year or so (as, I think, have many).
If KGB, unlikely. Some do turn up. Despite common knowledge.
Have a long-pending naval request by name out, I shall see . . . .

Not "impossible", just "very, very unlikely". Close, but not the same.

A lovely group, though shamefully broken up.

As information comes in . . . watch this space . . . .

Two more, to confuse matters more.

The more I stray beyond medals and into other (lesser) militaria and such, the more confused I become.
Here, for the record are some recently received Mongolian belts. While information has been requested from friends, I am clueless at present.
The second one is dark blue and yellow, the third is dark green and yellow.
