And another cased specimen, this one of much better quality on all levels. Made by Bertoni (Milan, Italy).
It is contained within a white paper outer box.

And inside. The lid just lifts off, no hinge or anything.

With the slipcase removed, the case is made from this plastic (won't last long) and of a darker blue than it looks in this photo (flash washout!).

Wisam al-Tahrir / Liberation Medal
Just to show a couple of cased sets of the lowest class of this medal. While these are class used for US forces (as awards of the higher class were rejected, except for Schwarzkopf).
The first set is in a paper slipcase.

And inside. While I can find no maker's mark, this is clearly NOT the nasty unofficial US-made variety. I'd guess it is official and from the Huguenin (Le Loche, Switzerland) batch of 385,000 (and not from Spink of London, who made the same number).

With the slip-case removed, with a darker "Saudi Green" case than it appears in this photo.

Nuth al-Tahrir al-Kuwait / Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait
A cased set. The outside, with card-stock slipcase.

And the interior, similar to the one shown above. I can find no indication of the manufacturer anywhere.

Nuth Al-Ma?rkat / Combat Medal
A cased set. The color is actually a darker, more "Saudi" green than it appears here.

That is, unfortunately, part of collecting Soviet ODM in today's world.
One reason to stick with dealers who know (and guarantee) their stuff and to consult friends (here) who also know their stuff.

USAF,
you need MUCH better pictures of the order, especially of the ring on top of the order and a clear picture of the obverse and a closeup of the white enameled ring, if possible. I am good enough with these to give you an opinion, but i guess, other member will be able to comment.
Gerd
I'd agree with everything Gerd said. While I'd like to hear from the more expert members of the community, my non-expert eyes see a number of areas that bother me. For something this uncommon (and expensive), you need to be 100% sure.

Nice project. Feel free to use anything from First Sergeant of the Guards Alexandra Vasilyevna Grebenschchikova, Sanitary Instructor of motor rifle company, 1st Motor Rifle Battalion, 29th Guards Order of Bogdan Khemelnitsky 1st Degree Motor Rifle Brigade of Unech, The Guards Tank Ural-Lvov Voluntary Corps:

Let me know if you need better scans.

I guess this is one of the values of limited linguistic ability among medal dealers and collectors. To most erstwhile fakers, Japanese looks like chicken-scratches so they pass on to easier-to-fake documents with larger markets. The day will probably come when enterprising Japanese crooks fill this vacant niche, but enjoy it until then!

Good question. I know of nothing. I suspect the Kurds are approaching the whole "independence" business with some care, especially if they have any awareness of what the Turkish response will be.
PM box now has space, but it fills soooo quickly.

The Japanese is unavailable to me, sorry. (How very exotic, though.) They are receiving their -- well deserved -- honours, by the way, and "presenting" to no one.
Not sure what you are trying to say.

Yes, Gor (good to see you here, cheers!). There is a lot of extra variability here. Bat will (we hope) be expanding on this in an anticipated SECOND EDITION.
There are, however, some fakes, some dangerous, some not, of this particular award.

In (partial) apology for another recent post, here are some awards, in a single image, of those who really made their revolutions. As Marx knew, and others didn't, it wouldn't be "soldiers and sailors" (or even "peasants") who would build the real revolution.
For cross-reference (starting on the left, as is appropriate):

ahhh, Ed collects nazeeeee awards
Did you get if for free or were you forced to take it?
Yes, Gerd, Rick can be very persuasive, especially as a "package" with Mongolian awards. My arm has been twisted, ouch! The problem is that I sort of have a low-key "thing" for EK groups, and this was a nice place-holder showing some historically interesting service. Not proud of this phaleristic deviance, but I shall soon apologize for it, comrade!

Not the sort of thing I'd normally collect, but a historically interesting new group:
-- Eisernes Kreuz (1939), II. Klasse
-- Medaille "Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42"
-- Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938 mit Spange "Prager Burg"

Typical e$cam or Russian "tourist" garbage

X 29 -- Trade Union of Construction Workers
Some damage, but still nice.

X 22 -- Trade Union Badge
While this may not be identical to what Battushig shows, it is close enough?

Inside this, a high quality plastic box. The blue color is much deeper than it seems here, unfortunate reflection and all.
