I've never seen "CT" as an abbreviation for constable, not even for the kinky BSF boys. Fear the seller is "reaching" here.

Battushig lists this as a "Q", but I guess it could just as easily be a "C"?

Not great archaeology, but nice views of Mongolia.

Inspired by the interesting threads here, I have started a thread on the phaleristic aspects of this msision over at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14903.

Dolf has shown a NIB friendship badge with the Soyuz 39 mission emblem. See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10220&st=26
A few more NIB Soyuz 39 related badges.

Though also shown elsewhere:
Q 11 -- The Heroes of Space -- Class Brothers
For joint Soviet-Mongol spape flights. Battushig lists this as an "airline" badge.
A whopping 63 mm.

Echoing the very interesting threads over on the "miscellaneous communist" sub-forum, I thoiught I'd add a focused post on badges for the Soviet-Mongol Soyuz 39 flight.
For background information, see:

The Mongolian cosmonaut was D. Gurragchaa and his backup was M. Ganzorig.

I don't have and can't show the Mongolian cosmonaut badge, A5, (only three were ever manufactured) or the 5th anniversary pin, Q12. Can anyone add these?

Yep, "710 CT. BALKISHAN, I.A.F.". An odd rank, support role (what the Brits used to call a "follower"), and as single-named, probably low caste status. A very off rank on which I am drawing a total blank. A nice one, 100% OK. Shall bounce it off a friend who knows everything IAF.

Looks good to me, matches on the service number to the MIC card (4408). These are, to my knowledge, not faked. Maybe the last thing for which this is true?
I would guess Acting Battery QM Sgt.
Getting the MICs will tell you more.

This practice is quite common, as mounted medals are worn often and the issuing process drags. Looks like the havildar is wearing the Sainya Seva Medal, High Altitude Service Medal, 50th Independnece Anniversary Medal, and the 9-Year Service Medal.

Samar Seva Star was issued to all branches. We have never been able to locate solid service-specific numbers.
What is the full naming? "CT" rings no bells and seems quite odd. Can you actually post a scan of the naming?

Yes, as I have been told, men are dogs.
