Hello,
can anybody tell me something about this medal from spanish civil war?!
regards
Michael
Ohhh! Nice.
What does the reverse legend say??

Me too (though the group is likely a "reconstruction" and hard to photograph behind clowdy plastic).

For those with an interest in Mongolian awards to Soviets -- rather than in Mongolian awards to Mongolians -- you may wish to glance at: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=12301 and at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3571

To all:
I have positively identified the second Full Cavalier in Post # 1 above. I will now work to i.d. these new men (Posts # 7 and 11).
Regards,
slava1stclass
And . . . ????

That is an interesting screw on it. I would be surprised if it is the original one.
Agreed.

These days, I have enough trouble maintaining:
English (mother tongue)
Hindi (used to be quite good, still OK)
Urdu (used to be quite good, still OK)
German (used to be quite good, now sub-rusty)
Arabia (rudimentary+)
Mongolian (trying to learn)
Russian (wish I could learn)
But, as you kill off brain cells,
. . .
But we are, I guess, badly

No, you are absolutely correct. Language is a problem, but we make it more of a problem than it needs to be. Thank you for reminding us of the need to reach across linguistic walls!
Нет, Вы абсолютно правильны. Язык - проблема, но мы делаем это большим количеством проблемы, чем это должно быть. Спасибо за то, что напоминать нам о потребности достигать поперек лингвистических стен!
I am using http://www.online-translator.com/ -- is there a better translator?
Я использую http://www.online-translator.com/ - является там лучшим переводчиком?

Very interesting, I guess. Online translators are better for humor more than for understanding.

This same group places "Global Warming" and "Saving the Seals" as the top priorities in their lives.
And . . . ?????

Thanks for this, Maxim! I have sent private message.
Спасибо за это, Максим! Я послал частное сообщение.
(How bad is that?!)

What's that with red/green ribbon in bottom right hand corner?
Close up please
Looks like just a roll of Red Banner of Labor ribbon?
Now a quiz: How many children are represented by the "mommy orders" spread out here? Half the poopulation of Darkhan?

Gentlemen,
I'm trying to identify all Zhukovs awards seen on this beautiful picture. The Soviets are no problem, but I'm having difficulties with the foreign ones (including his Mongolian ones). Are the two awards left from his Lenins Orders of the Red Banner of Military Valor?
You might get better answers on the awards to a Soviet over on the Soviet section of the forum?

I can order books at once from the author, with its autograph and the best regards to colleagues abroad. But I do not know as them to send you. They weigh nearby 5 kg, and I am afraid mail will be very dear.
It is necessary to ask on mail, whether it is possible to send books we shall assume in U.S.A., IF it is possible, it is reliable and it is not dear - I can help all with purchase of books with Shishkov's autograph.
Maxim.
Thanks, Maxim! Add me to the list of people interested (and I know that airmail postage to teh US will be a lot!).

If someone has a simpler method than going there (Russia), I'm also interetsed in...
Ch.
Yep, not an option just now.

Is there any easy way to get the 2005 edition? The "usual suspects" do not seem to have it in stock.

Thanks for this, Bob. These data points have been excerpted into the relevant threads for ease of cross-reference. This also has the convenient by-product of "bumping" these useful threads, many of which were quite buried.

Yep, and couldn't match it pic to any of the booklets (based on stamp) so either it was "loose" in some where or was not a correct pic to begin with...
I just wish we could research all these Mongolian awards sooner rather than later... just the thought (dreaming): detailed service records, photographs, etc.
Dream on and hope for 2007 . . .
