Thanks!
When evidence is presented calmly, rationally, and as evidence and not as assertion, we can of course use our "power of brains". When we are simply told "fake" with no rational evidence presented, we sometimes react poorly. Maybe we shouldn't. Yet, sometimes, having expert certification is still useful and valuable. I think you can understand that.

Are you referring to number of people awarded a second / third / fourth RCB or number of people awarded an RCP with a 2 /3 / 4 at bottom?
Those awarded the "2", "3", or "4" numbered badges. Or, more accurately, and turning that around, the numbers of "2", "3", and "4" badges awarded. The first number is probably unknowable, for photographs (and I refer here of photos of Mongolians, not foreigners) make it clear that numbered subsequent awards weren't consistent. Even Choibalsan's five (5!) RCBs seem to have been unnumbered. Yet Lkhagvasuren's are properly numbered 2-3-4.
Also, I've seen above numbers mentioned several times but what's the source?Dr. Battushig.
We shall, of course, know more when the registers of awards become available. Unfortuntely, this will also constitute a division in our collections between awarded pieces with history and the unawarded (but still numismtically nice) bank escapees.

Makes you wonder why Mongolia even had the 2-3-4 indicated Red Combat Banner's since they "never" seemed to actually been awarded. Here again, he has 2 RCB's of which one is a very recent model... I would have expected that the 2-3-4's would have been in stock so why not give such one instead of just a different new issue?
As with most countries, I think they devoted less attention to odd and exotic foreigners than to their own citizens. And it may have been a function of what the embassy in Moscow held in the valuts. Yet as only some 40 of the "2" were ever awarded, . . . 10-15 of the "3" and 4-5 of the "4" . . . ???

Thanks, Bob. That exceeds, by a thousand, the previously recorded high. I did get the sense, when I was in UB, from what I saw but could not understand on TV, that the mommy order was still being awarded, as new recipients were being interviewed on the TV news.
Make the range for the Second Class Order of Mother Heroine an observed low of 179876 and a high of 211334. There is some overlap with Type 2.1, with a range of 170577/197624 (suggesting the enamel color means nothing with the pinback 2nd class).

WWII MMs almost always have a recommendation in WO 373. Many are very nice. See, for example, Rifleman Asarsing Limbu's MM group: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2331&st=21.

Lovely pair, but we may need a better category than just cramming it in among the Belgians and French?
Frankly, had I not followed it over, I'd never have found it here (if I didn't read widely -- too widely perhaps -- across the forum).

As it has vanished into eBayLand, thanks for posting this, Lukasz!

There is color throughout -- and colour too
-- but most of what is there comes in the addition of ribbons to the entry for each medal (in addition to the ribbon chart). As most of the medals are still shown naked, they don't add much color to the presentation.
More importantly, many of the old laughable perstent errors remain and, for those who want the volume as a price guide, get the special edition that comes pre-packaged with a large grain of salt.
Still, a useful reference.

It's got a TR oakleaf wreath vibe to it, too.
I hope not, Eric, I hope not.
What's the rear look like, mirror?Good question:

Nice - looks a lot like a certain Soviet award
Yes, a lot, up to the "Workers of the World . . ." incantation on the upper red banner. And Mondovor-made too.

As the claim of "holy grail" was recently advanced on another thread, I'll not employ that vocabulary here. But I am tempted. Very tempted!
C 02 VAR -- Best Shooter
The NIB variant of the "Best Sword Hitter" badge (C 02). This is the first one seen, only a rumor unil now. And only two "Good Sword Hitters" are known (and both are in poor condition). Apparently a Mongol equivalent of the Soviet Voroshilov badges, but for swords and guns only -- all Mongols were expected to ride well!

No, I am happy with the evidence as it has been presented. At first, the evidence wasn't presented but the facts are now on the table on both "groups". I appreciate all your help. The seller (a forum friend) has been contacted.
