OK, ignoring the common stuff shown in
http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6207&st=5
above ("Common" = those I know
), here we go:
Badge 1

I suspect this is (1) just sloppy mounting, as they were foreign their ribbons may not have mattered or may not have been in stock, and (2) they'd be buried under overlapping Soviet rows upon rows anyway.

One thing I do love about the photo is that he's wearing his "1st Horse Cavalry" badge which was supposed to be for veterans of the unit from the Civil War... I still wonder how he got that!
Watch it, Dave. You prompt me to start posting these badges for identification help! They constitute unknown territory to me!
And, yes, it is good to at least see a more detailed photo. (Should it ever be on the market . . . ???)

Now for the million dollar quesion...
Does anyone have a 1988-1991 example?
Paul
Not quite a million, but getting close . . . .

While we're doing these nice single-award threads, . . . .
The only one I have is Kravchenko's, see http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6207
Type 3, 26471

Kravchenko's third class, type 1, # 2618. (A nice low number!)

A third class singleton, var. 1, #58814, so far unattributed. The Master holds the research request.
(Gosh, this one is hard to scan!)

My only example (I am holding out for a nice documented single or documented group where the international "link" is clear -- talk about being picky!) is the one in that problem child of a "group-that-probably-isn't-a-group" that pops up everywhere.
#10705

Thanks, Mondvor. That is a clear version of the muddy photo I had a scan of.
Happy, happy, joy, joy.
Thanks again.

If I have varieties that "fill the gaps", I'll add more tomorrow. The flatbacks are especially nice., though. Have several.

"Peshta" I'd say-- but that is freakish calligraphy!
That's a mild version of what my colleague in Russian history said. Thanks.

Any numbered? Or, better yet, on original suspensions??

Darrell, Ed & Paul...GREAT Job!!! Thanks for sharing your labor medals. Sometimes it seems like this group of medals is forgotten.
Doc
As I said in another thread, while they don't share the considerable appeal of having been awarded for killing Nazis, they are nice awards that, if we could ever decipher their stories, would speak to the reality of the CCCP more so than a long-service Red Banner.

why is it that you rarely see these award booklets with pictures? Did the relatives OR previous owners rip them out because they didnt want their mugs in these?
I have never seen evidence for this, but I get the sense that from late in the GPW, photos were not normally placed in award books, or al least they were valid without them. I have always assumed that the nuisance of doing this outweighed the need to actually issue awards to recipients without delay to wait for the cameraman. Sure, in some cases, the photos or missing (whether fallen out or -- more rarely?? -- torn out), but a post-1943 (or so) award WITH a photo seems to me a bit of a rarity. Others wiser than I may (please) chime in??

Is it an accurate translation?
Suspect that works for Russian. Russian isn't Mongolian. At least they are going back to a script that works. (And just as I was getting secure in Mongolian Cyrillic!
)

Usually "Khalkhin Gol" at least in Mongolian (and on the Mongolian sub-forum -- where that badge belongs anyway). See:

I find it interesting that he does not have/wear the KG badge?

Or, for imperial, "White", and other Russian flags, try the Mother of All Sites at:
