You are not thwe only one... from the Uniform, 1970s porno star moustache and the lazy look I thought he was an Iraqi general.....

No only in Russian. What else should we expect? Sites on US or British medals tend to be only in English. While far from perfect, the various online translation engines give you the pidgin-Russian version. I like

but there are dozens.

Hi Ed,
You might know this one...
I heard a rumor that the Iraqi Govt is making medals to give to US service members who participated(ing) in the war.
Have you heard anything like this?
Paul
I have heard talk of it, but I suspect the new "government" has more important things to worry about? Unless Halliburton has started striking medals as a sideline??

There were more than a few Serbian awards to Indians during WWI, and I wouldn't characterise them as rare (many more than the Belgian awards, for example, though fewer than the Russian ones).

Dies are 'hardened' after being cut. I'm not sure about cutting into a hardened completed die.
OK, could be, maybe German jewlery shops did it differently than the Royal Mint in London, the Indian Mint in Calcutta, and the "by appointment" jewelers like Gerrard and Spink in London. As I said, I only work from the basis of what I know.

Yes, very strange. Given the source, I feel good (better?) about it, but in the constellation of some of the other "groups" shown here of late, there may well be a fecal fall of some magnitude??
0 -
As others have said, since a significant number of these medals would have been numbered, why create yet another totally fraudulent illegitimate "group"? For what earthly reason???
In the (unlikely?) event these ribbon sets are legitimate (there are many causes for concern), why defraud others (or yourself) by faking "groups"??

Suspect a late add-on to an existing group. Homemade half-mounting?
0 -
Interesting that the last one has its ribbon geometry reversed.
