Some of the interesting individuals. A shame we don't know the names?

Other photos related (somehow) to this (well, one of these) individual(s) can be found at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=30954 .

And details of reverse annotation.

Several photos related, in some way, to the photo posted at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=30953 (well, one of the people seems to be the same).
Groups apparenty (am I right?) called to the Kremlin for some (good) reason.
The perosn we're seeking, same handwriting on all group photos.

An interesting photo, recently arrived.
With the only name details from the reverse.

Thanks, Marc. A very "Uzbek" name.

See what happens when THE expert on WWI RA is lurking around . . .

Ed,
Looking at the pencil notation at the top right corner of his award certificate, his name is: Kterin, Ilya Yudovich. The transliteration to English was a bit off.

Thanks for this. I thought my rudimentary Cyrillic skills whispered this to me. I am actually doing what I (and they) can do to research him.

A sew-on bar. I assume the last ribbon represents the PRDA Order of the Sun of LIberty (but ought it not come ahead of the Afghan 'International Warrior' medal?).

And, ignoring white space, the citation.

While it won't quite fit on the scanner, another certificate.

But, given the period and conditions for the Africa Star, I can't see it as a single. I'd think an upper row is missing.

Yes - during the last 6 months of the War (8th May for Europe, September for Far East) it was possible to get the relevant Campaign Star without getting the 1939-45 Star first. I have seen quite a few groups with France and Germany Star w/o 1939-45 star e.g. entry into France in January 1945 qualified for the F+G Star only

In the Indian Army, a Burma Star alone is also seen. Not common, but seen.

Thanks to those who have offered positive and relevant comments. It has been surprisingly difficult keeping this thread on track, but when I find the time and energy I shall be adding to this thread.

Perhaps. Shall post (elsewhere) the full list of his "sources".
(And I am looking for those arms -- suspecting a pretentious zamindar.)

Isn't it just as easy to use McClanaghan's book, from which Buyers borrowed his information?

Thanks, Rick. I find it interesting that the MMM recommendation was "confidential". Need to try for the (missing) other as it might help, among the boilerplate.

Yes, Tunisian. It is shown in the Burke's Monster Book (which I far too rarely consult since it requires getting a fork-lift to take off the shelf). Vol 2, pp. 1671-73.
The Order of 7 November 1987 is a five-class order created 2 July 1988. The president is ex officio grand master of the order.

If anyone sees this post, can read the materials, and is willing to help, I'd be VERY grateful.
Thanks in advance.
