i don't know much about this organization formed in the mid 30's, but i do know that their flag was black-red-black (as seen on your neat document), and these colors were used for the ribbon of the 1. october sudeten medal

i'm a bit reluctant to lump this one in with the wares that "the club" peddles. his copies of the awards you mention are of good quality (if one can dare call them that), but the quality of this one is very, very good

at $7, this was way too neat to pass up!

here is a 1st place "swimming" award for reichs-brigade 10 (hannover), given on 7 sept of 1919.

it consists of a 50mm gilded bronze medallion, 40.5 gr

reichswehr brigade 10 was formed in june of 1919 primarily from the freikorps units caspari, oldenburg, freiwillegen jaegerkorps niedersachsen, and a few others. it was part of x armeekorps hannover.

in october of 1919, it merged with reichswehr brigade 36, so it's likely that whoever won this award was an ex-member of one of the above mentioned freikorps units!

werner von blomberg and wilhelm keitel were members of this brigade

here is something that may be pertinent to the thread on the other forum. i think the member who initiated the thread is a member over here as well, so hopefully he will see this.

this is from a book i have that deals with the baltic cross. this appears to be a screwback white army baltic cross. perhaps this is the type he once had?

nicely vaulted, and the pin has been ostensibly adjusted in order to help prevent the cross from becoming detached from a tunic or heavier coat.

all in all, a unique, well made, and interesting example!

reverse has neither maker or silver content hallmark, but frames appear to be silver with a high content. the tarnish is deep with a rainbow effect.

catch is large

here's one with a lot of character. not pretty to look at, but it has a few interesting features (to me)

the front: core has been repainted a long time ago, leaving the details a bit obscured

the dimensions are quite large (70mm long), so i doubt it would fit on a collar tab. somewhere, i saw these described as a 'leistungsabzeichen'.

the collar tabs are smaller.

perhaps the answer lies within info on reichswehr brigade 4?

in any case, i remain sceptical towards the authenticity until i see a period foto of it being worn.

Nicely done. Pula is a really nice town - love the Croatian coast.

it was the main base for the austro-hungarian navy, and the hapsburgs had a summer resort nearby. a very beautiful area!

the owner of the seattle store had these on display for many years. they were part of a large collection of medals from all over the world that he had on display at the shop. the display was clearly marked, 'not for sale'. last time i went in there, the display was still there (except for the MOH's)

Some damage to the enamel, but at under $100, I consider this a very good buy.

this one is made in the latvian style. i have not seen these very often. any opinions? is it a fake, or is it a commemorative piece awarded during the abstimmung for oberschlesien in 1921? the cross is very well made, magnetic, and dimensions are correct.

here's one that i am not 100% certain of, as they have been heavily reproduced in the last few years. this one seems to have the commensurate aging, and has been very well made, with very sharp details and well-soldered pin. opinions?
