yep, seen those as well and this type seems to pop up from time to time over the years. i've always likened them to hbg's or kag's as far as rarity is concerned.

i posted this one because i couldn't figure out micha's comment on boonzaire's 'for sale' thread and really didn't want to post on the sales forum.

i purchased them locally at an antique shop a few years ago along with a geschwader general wever cuff title for the equivalent price of two movie tickets.

no idea if they are good or not; that's why i posted them. i'm fairly certain that the cuff title is good, tho.

please take into account that this kind of stuff is not really my focus..

but i have seen plenty of dubious c/k poellath/pollath hallmark strikes. yours seems to read 'ssiber', but perhaps that may be due to the photo angle?

is it possible to get a better view?

the strike should be crisp, clean, and entirely legible for starters.

I taped over his name because I don't want people bad mouthing my friends badge if they don't like it because he paid allot for it the recipient was a famous ace pilot.

understandeable. but you have to realize that there aren't too many like these floating around (real or fake) so the taping of the name is a moot point, imo. plus, plenty of fellow collectors may have already seen this if it came from a major reputable auction house that provides coa's, no?

Really could it be a jewlers copy period 1918 ?? I can't find any refernce either anywhere? Is the name stamped correctly?

this hallmark has been used on fakes other than pilot badges, so you should not under any circumstances use it as a guide.

i thought the traditionsabzeichen were of a different size (smaller) and exclusively made of silver. could this be a 2nd issue piece for everyday wear?

or are the smaller pieces the 2nd issue pieces-with this being the original type?

sorry for my questions--am primarily focused on imperial stuff and do not have much in the way of reference for 3rd reich. any help at all it greatly appreciated!
