During the last excursion, I found this badge on a field where I had previously discovered nice finds from allied forces (mainly british and new zealandese insignias). It could be civilian as well, anyway.
Any idea?
thanks

Merci Veteran !
My Grandpa lived most of his life abroad, and he had quite an adventurous life. Run from home at age 16 to join the italian army in WW1, he took part of most of the campaigns, including the infamous "Caporetto retreat". he got wounded and also promoted to officer.
At 19, he join a local shipping company and started traveling the world. India,Egypt,Japan and about 20 years in China. In 1937 he volunteered to help protecting french concessions in Shanghay during the Japanese occupation, and he was awarded of this medal. From 1943 to 1945 he gave shelter to 2 jewish collegues in his house in Shanghay, one american and one italian. At the time, italians were forced to wear a yellow "T" for Traitors on their clothes, with few exceptions. He never looked for praise for this action and I only knew that due to yearly visits of one of these 2 men, later immigrated to Swiss that become almost a family member. He quietly passed away at age 98 year, in 1996.
I did some research on this medal and I found that there are 2 known clasps, one like my grandpa had, and another one. It would be interesting to know how many people were awarded with it.

back.
they all come from different sources and were found in different times. The only thing they have in common is that they are all unissued.

and another pair of untabbed litzen, which never made me worry, but also labeled as bad recently by this only collector.

Thank you Gordon!
So far I only had one negative comment on all of these tabs, on a local forum. You'll never be too cautious in this hobby, that is why I am posting them around to collect more opinions.
I'm adding to this thread also my Gendarmerie tabs (the only one that were considered universally Ok)

Thanks Paul,
I should add that opinions are welcome on both sets

Believe this is not a common award, it belonged to my Grandpa, who was awarded with it in Shanghay, during WW2. Together with the medal, it comes also a kind of clasp.

I need some opinion on this set of tabbed Feldgendarmerie litzen.
I will also post some extra pics, comparing them with another set, which looks unfinished, I already had.
Thanks in advance for your comments

Hallo Lightfoot,
I brightened the pictures from the link for a better look.

Hi Lightfoot,
it reminds me the cast copies you could find at the street markets of Belgrad in the early '90's. Bad in my opinion. Regards Matt

I've never seen a 2 piece model OFF the hat, so no idea what the back SHOULD look like. The prongs appear to be replaced/repaired (?) but other than that... it's been so long since I've SEEN one, that is almost always a good indication. I'm sure everything's faked, but I've never noticed fakes of these. I'd remember ANY 2-piecer that came into my paws.
Hi,
never had a 2 piece eagle in my collection, so it's hard to compare, but if you could post closer shots of details, it may help.
regards Matt
