Yes I understand your sense. Technical artifacts are maybe not so generally apreciated by collectors. Also I think this kind of items where not considerered so valuable to be preserved in traditional militaria collectors mentality. So most of this kind of things have disapeared.
Pas de probleme avec ton anglais je comprend parfaitment.
a bientôt

Thank you very much guenther
as far as I know, having ask abou it in other forums,it is an auxiliary diesel spare box. Probably from a surface ship, not u-boat related. If interested in his origin it was found in a great military dealer in catalonia Spain, some years ago, which has also some german 8,8 cannons remaining from spanish civil war

Hello all
I got recently a U-boat original inventory from U-874 dated 1944. (Allgemeine Gerätesoll)
I found between the china inventory green circles dishes indicated to be used in the Oberfeldwebel table service and brown circle dishes to be used in officers table service.
I know there are other Kriegsmarine porcellain with different colours like red circles or others. Are those other types related to different use? Is this use known?
I couldn´t find any Kriegsmarine china classification related to colour. Any help would be of great value.
Thank you in advance
A readable scan of those pages in my site

You are right Paul
It seems to be an event painting. Maybe also the harbour entry could be recognize?
It will be interesting a research in Uboat operations records and prices taken in german ports by this Uboat type, if these records are preserved. The boat looks like the U 31-37 series Germania Werft, if I am correct.

Hello Daniel
Your observation is really interesting, I haven?t seen this detail.
Great thanks
Alejandro
Alejandro,
The ships number does not look like a German designation. If you look at the mast there appears to be a British jack flying under the German Flag. This would mean to me, that this was a prize being brought back by a boarding party of the U-boat who accompanied it into harbor.

Hello David
Thank you for your comment. Of course I was interested in it as historical document. It seems to come from the "Nachlass" of a german navy uboat member. I will try to search on the "Vorpostenboot" number to locate somehow the scene
