Watch out for ticks!!! A friend of me just got his second Lymne Borreliose by a Verdun tick from our trip in august!
Chris finally decided it was time to announce his coming out.

Either it is a variant (yes, there was also a cap which looked like the M24 stick grenade cap in WW1) or the star shaped part, which was attached to it with rivets, is just missing.
It was the cap and base from a stick bomb but isn't star shaped.
Why's that Jens?
It still has the ball inside and some of the wood is present but we couldn't find the rest.

Hi,
the 117th was only in Verdun at the beginning of 1916, we visited where they attacked at Louvemont.

It has got a "Empfindlicher Kanonenz?nder 16", so it may be Gas or HE.
Hi Jens,
Is post 14 a Gas granate?

The problem with the feldgrau tunics are the prices nowadays. Who has got 1500 Euros left for a M15 Feldbluse?

Thanks Daniel. I was surprised about the wool quality too. How would you date it? Around 1900? They still used dunkelblau uniforms in WW1, but only at home and only for training if they had a lack of field grey uniforms. I once saw a picture from 1917 with a group of recruits in blue uniforms during basic training at home.
Btw. IR 81 is the unit I reenact!

Thanks Kev! Btw. this tunic has got a fine black lining which looks like some kind of silk. No stamps...

And the cuffs. The yellow piping is faded.

I just got my first imperial tunic! A dark blue Waffenrock for an enlisted rank of the Infanterie-Regiment Landgraf Friedrich I. von Hessen-Cassel (1. Kurhessisches) Nr. 81 (Frankfurt a. M.). 4. Kompagnie.

Ok, they are french, but I think this is the best place to post it. I just got them at ebay for a good price (I hope). Made by "HUET, Paris" and marked "L - V. B. Mle 1917". Who can tell me more about them? A picture of a complete one with tripod would be great too.
