Hi,
I just got this french Kepi for a Colonel of infantry regiment 80. Any idea about its date? WW1 and before, is it original and what could be a "normal" price for it? Thanks!

It is a german "Gewehrgranate 17" or "ink pot", as it was called by the british. It is the german version of the french Vivien Bessiere rifle grenade, which can be fired with a life cartridge. It think it contains about 40 g of TNT.
I've forgotten what this is exactly and how many grams of TNT are still inside but I think Jens said it is a French rifle grenade. Something he hasn't seen there before.
What is it again Jens including how much TNT it has, was it 14g?

And a german "Leichte Gasmine" I never saw before on the battlefield of Verdun. Note the strange "shoulders" under the fuze which identify it as a Gasmine. It is also longer than the normal HE mine and the forest workers marked it with a special color code!

Two items you shouldn' t touch!
An unfired german 15 cm shell. On the closeup you can see the stamps on its fuse. Its a Granatz?nder 04 with the maker Siemens & Halske and date 1915.

Sounds good gentlemen. Those who need my handy-number, please PM me. I hope everyone will take rain clothes and some "Eiserne Portionen" with him (soup for example to heat in the forest).

Don't worry, if a shell doesn't decides spontaneously to fulfill its duty after 90 years, we will be quite safe. If you find something, you are not 105% sure about, don't touch it and let me know.

Thanks guys. Rick, what do you think about the academy badges from me? The crest looks a little bit strange. One looks like copper.
