In my opinion is this one a fake! Strange rivets, bad enamel etc.

Hi Bob,
it is also important which fuse setting you use. The Bodenz?nder 10 could be used without delay, single or double delay. Against fortresses they usually used short or long delay, because when the shell penetrates some cm of concrete before exploding the effect is much higher. The book I have is called "Notes on german shells" from the british intelligence from 1918 and has got about 220 pages.

Your medal even looks a little bit like bronze gilt.

Hi,
I got a british 1907 sword bayonet made in july 1917 by Sanderson. On the pommel are the following markings:
T.
3. M. M.
1
The "T." and the "1" are in the middle above/under the "3. M. M.". Is this a unit marking?

What we see in this picture is indeed a 42 cm "M-Ger?t" in use.

Very nice one! Nearly the same combination; ok, the Long service awards are "younger".

Your were right, Antti! After years of not knowing what to do about this EK I finally read the Reichsarchiv books about the Battle of Verdun and came across a name! There is a liaison officer and possibly an artillery-observer from I./Reserve-Fu?artillerieregiment 7 mentioned, who was assigned to Reserve-J?gerbattaillon 7 during the fightings for Haumont near Verdun. His name was Leutnant Wei?. I think this is my man!

Hi,
the "K" is some kind of proof mark. The DF03 has some stamps like "Fernglas 03", "Dienstglas" etc.

Have you got a Lebel?
I was offered one for EUR230 and stupidly turned it down.... now I cannot find one anywhere....0 -
About the makers:
J = Ingolstadt
S = Spandau
RM = Rheinmetall

I think I paid 160 Euros for it and no, there are not more of them

Its a prismatic one and very small. Completely made from brass and it should have a "K" stamp.

Happy Easter to all and special thanks to the GMIC-members who joined our forum. All the others may feel free, join and take part in the discussions as well. I think we built a small but really good forum for all Battle of Verdun historians.

Yep, they made them too, but usually with a dark green paint. The pre war ones were usually black.
