    1. No.5 Either Oberwehrmann or Stabswehrmann, rank chevron worn on the arm isn't visible here. White piping signifies an active membership within Stahlhelmbund. Awards: Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse; Militär-Verdienstmedaille (Württemberg); Kyffhäuserbund Medaille; Kampfabzeichen der Ehrenlegion; Pro Deo et Patria 1914-1918 (???).

By the way I have a couple of questions regarding this photo:

      a) What does "3" on his collar patches stand for?

      b) What is the fifth award? In fact I doubt it's Hungarian medal.

      c) What badge is worn on the left side of the Feldmütze?

    2. Here I'd like to share with you some photos of Stahlhelmbund members from my personal collection. All of them are period originals.

No.1 Oberwehrmann or Stabswehrmann, one can't say for sure as rank chevron worn on the arm isn't visible on this photo being a portrait. The colour of the piping on collar patches seems blue to me, so I assume this Stahlhelmbund man was a member of Heimatschutz

    3. Being a new member here I'd like to introduce myself by posting some photos from my collection. In fact I'm more into WW2 photographs collecting but nevertheless I have several albums with photos from WW1 period.

To start with I'd like to show some photos of Paul von Hindenburg. Unfortunately size of an image is limited to 70 Kb and I have to compress every scan mercilessly :(

      Here we go anyway.

      # 1. Hindenburg is accompanied by the head of the Office of the President of Germany Otto Meißner (1880-1953).

    4. Niice pic and I assume it is a meeting of former Members of FAR 65.

Guy number 1 is GenMaj a.D. Karl Ludwig Lang,

he retired as Col and CO of FAR 65 long before WW1 ans was recalled as Cdr POW-Camp Rastatt, finally promoted to GenMaj.

      Awards: RAO4, KO2, EK2 70, DA, BZ2b, BZ3bX, BrH3a, HP3a, WK2c, WF3a

      born 1850, died 1926

      Greetings

      Daniel

P.S. is it possible to get a good scan of Lang?

Thanks a lot for your information, Daniel! As for the high quality scan, please let me know your e-mail by sending a private message and i'll forward it to you. As far as I understand the file size is limited by 70 Kb only...
