    1. True, maybe not common in upstate NY  . I tried to remove the goat for a seperate scan but the catch is bent down trapping the needle. The attachment mechanism looks similiar to that of the Indonesian medal I posted in the other thread...........not sure if that is a clue or not.

    2. Hi all found this interesting medal from Nepal in an antique shop in upstate NY. All I could find on it is that it is the Coronation Medal of King Mahendra issued in 1956. I have no idea what the attached Goats head device is for, any ideas?

    3. Well Dan, not sure what they would be worth as a set. They are definitely two different makers and the doc doesn't specify which grade is awarded. I am an IAB collecter almost exclusively so my answer would tend to ramble on and on as alot of fellow members know........

Anyway the SHuCo is a common maker in general but there are variants that are more rare or desirable.....steel examples, semihollow zincers, hollow marked and unmarked zincers.....so one of those would command more. The bronze JFS is also common but they usually keep their finish very nicely making them desirable. Then there is the question of the history behind this framed group????? So it really is hard to say.....as a collection of its parts then anywhere from 120-200 for the JFS and 90-150 for the SHuCo and the doc I'm kind of ignorant on but I havenever paid more then 30 for a doc. These are just ranges I have seen or paid myself.

    4. Hi Jan, yes I believe that you can find AS IAB's that have a buntmetal undercoat........not sure about solid or hollow buntmetal, but I know I have held one example with the same undercoat as on the unmarked L/51 I posted. Do you have one.........don't tease me now

      Hi Greg !

Very nice IAB`s . Spec. that unmarked L/51 is a really nice one .

Gerg ! Have You ever seen a AS IAB in Silver made of Buntmetall , or beleived it could have been made of Buntmatell ??

      Jan Arne

    5. Both appear to be cast copies......pretty good from the reverse view I would say. These are cast more then likely from a good "BSW" IAB. Sorry.........

      Hi Pat,

I dont profess to be an expert on these...BUT I have to agree with Dan on this...they both look to me to be cast fakes...the pitting on the reverse's gives them away....

      Sorry!

Keep trawling this site ...you will learn alot and get very sharp eyed...

Hope they did not cost you too much! or even better...hope you can send them back!

      Cheers

      Paul
