came with the set below and some not so important Hanoverian Grand Cross set : )

Everybody being awarded the Black Eagle Order was automatically holder of the Red Eagle Order "en satur" (on neck, as the french would say). Check this one out, it came from one of those folks and was presented on a small neck ribbon in a smal case just for the cross - no star. Maybe you find the little oddity hidden in this particular cross.

Wild Card, that is the one I am talking about....real gold center! Those are rather easy to evaluate.

Correct, there are know examples from the 1st and 2nd classes with and without swords with the exact same painting, also showing the "G" mark on the side of its cross arm. I unfortunately never bothered taking pictures, otherwise I would post one here.

Your piece is a typical late war Glaser made piece. They did paint the medallions rather then going through the expensive process of making metal applications like Scharffenberg. Some folks claim this to be the rare 1st type, awarded up to 1912, but that is not true.

Still a nice and fairly scarce knights badge.

So the signature on the Iron Cross document actually fits, implying the material on the Huesken site is OK. The typewritter is identical in-between the tank document and the Iron Cross document!

Another thing that bothers me is the typewriter used to prepare both documents looks like it might have been the same one. The way the unit is spelled or abbreviated might suggest the two docs were done a year or more apart, but then would the typewriter ribbon have been replaced a time or two, and therefore the amount of ink on the page be different (darker/lighter, not the same....)?

One by itself could easily pass, while two documents allows the details on the two to be compared.

I don't know what you're going to do, but I'd pass on these.

I believe that upon further comaprison of both documents we have actually two typwriters here. They may be similar, but the type is not identical.

Is it possible to post bigger scans?
