I thought it may be a Swedish Order?!0

I think I posted this one before, but since we are accumulating these in this thread:

I think a little too much with the 50. ;o))) Greetings Mike
Hey, long service is the reason for awarding these crosses. I would think the 50 almost came natural with the merit cross with crown!

Quite the bar! The honor cross with crown and swords is etremely rare!
Congrats!

What do you think of this one:

Sorry to say, but there are a few missing, e.g. life savings medal ribbon, or three times white and black striped ribbon for repetitive bravery.
Sash ribbon for the grand cross is not correct either. That would be the first class sash.
Yet, very nice presentation!

"zimmerman excavations"?
can you elaborate?
thanks!
joe
The old factory of Zimmermann was basically excavated. The left overs were taken out of the ground and sold. Lots of stuff, all semifinish, finish medals etc. But all damaged and burned in various degrees.

Some nice, but very poor conditioned REO minis from the Zimmermann excavations:

Yes I agree its post 1945.....but wanted to know if it was made for post 45 arts and science.....but if they did not come with would it be a tailors copy or a straight copy to decieve? for a PLM
A fake is a fake is a fake....

Thanks....Maybe it comes from anarts and science PLM, any way to find out ?
They do not come with oak leaf.
This one is from after 1945, seriously.

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with anything made before 1918. You may want to check out the following web page:

Nice medal , it was out of my collection from a while back! I traded it with some other stuff for an army Luftschiffer badge. It was difficult to let it go as it is rare and mint. It occured to me also (when I owned it) that it was probably an 1870 overstock piece that was used in 14-18 given the heavy lug on the 1870 ones and the thinner one on the WW1 pieces, but the detail is stunning anyway. I was given to believe that the maroon box indicated a posthumous award. Did it come from Emedals? Ferg1.
It actually came from Emedals, so it must be your originally. What a small world.

I've been puzzling over it, Andreas:
"Venezuela 1902-03" is of course a NAVAL bar. There were literally only a few strays-- Marine officers who MIGHT have gone back into the army, just to confuse us.
But I'm having problems (aside from the bizarre precedence of a Colonial Medal in front of the SA3aX and Hindenburg CrossX) figuring out the Wehrmacht 18 and 4--
sea duty outside German home waters counted double towards Imperial Navy long service awards, as did the war years. Any naval personnel who were off Venezuela in 1902 HAD to have received the XXV Years Service Cross. I've seen naval groups with entry dates as late as 1907 with an XXV for overseas and war double time.
The SA3aX indicates a Captain-- let's say Kapit?nleutnant.
To be a REAL bar...
this person would have HAD to have resigned from the military BEFORE 1914 with enough break in service NOT to have ended up with that 1920 XXV... and then been called back up 20 years later to go BACK into the military AGAIN at a mid-rank level with over 30 years since joining initially.
I can imagine that there COULD have been somebody with that bizarre a career who ended up as a Wehrmacht (E) officer-- I've got the paperwork for a Mecklenburg cavalry reserve officer who went from always dR service long before and during the war to (E) regular status in the 1930s...
but a DOUBLE previous retiree would be very very strange indeed!
If the bar had had the 25 and 12 on there, I'd be looking for who it might have been.
Rick,
the XXV long service was there. too. See picture. Maybe another family member. but...

...all things aside, is it possible to identify this one? (Meaning the bar in the picture)
Come on guys, we all learn from history and move on.

And I bet she got 100 emails from ebayers offering to buy the stuff as a lot.
She should have just taken the highest offer.
People used to sell BEFORE ebay as well, its not the only way. I bet she got a dozen or so offers, then thought she would rather maximise the profit and split it on ebay.
Anyway, whatever. There are plenty of ways to sell, even without ebay. Anyone with google can sell anything today.
best
Chris
Chris,
actually, when you list stuff on Ebay in sensitive areas, the itmes apear with a time buffer. She told me they tossed one out after 5 hours, th other times after 2-3 hours.
Once cut the Emails were pooring in.

Well, the seller said she tried 3 times to sell the group on Ebay, but was delisted even with covered swastikas. It is Ebay who is to blame, trying to enforce stupid policies.0

Some may have seen those single medals on German Ebay as a result of the German law prohibiting Ebay to allow the sale of III.Reich Items. I managed to get a picture of the original group. Now destroyed forever. the pieces were sold to different buyers. Very sad. It is the Venezuela bar.

Because these pieces should weigh 20.28 gr. and this example weighs 23.4 gr., I cannot completely guarantee it?s authenticity; but I believe that it is a reasonably accurate representation. I hope that this information is helpful.
Regarrds,
Wild Card
I would be very careful with those details published in Nimmergut. :shame:

Bt the way, does anybody have a spare copy of:
A. Mekhonoshin, "Breast Badges of the Highest Offices of Government, 1917-1991"

Any idea as to why he did not get the PLM for Arts & Science instead?
Not really, but speculative maybe because it such a direct and immediate impact, rather then being theoretical.

...well, #4 went for 3700 Euro.
