  1. I am the friend that asked Pete to help me figure out what ribbon this was, thank you all for the quick replies. With that information I was able to find a medal that matched it. It is blue-white-red-white-red-white-blue; I took the slide-mount to get a good look at the back.

Rick said, "That is an exceptionally odd combination. Upside down, chronologically", so what order should they have been in? Or is it just upside down?

Where might I find some sort of information on the order ribbons should be in?

I believe they belonged to my ex's great uncle. Why I have them is another mystery.

  2. I am trying to help a friend identify this ribbon bar.

    As stated by my friend:

It has 3 ribbons on it, the 1st is the World War 2 Victory Medal, the 2nd one I have no clue, and the 3rd is World War 1 Occupation Medal. I have looked everywhere and so far I have not been able to find out what the 2nd ribbon is. It is blue-white-red-white-red-white-blue

  3. Here are all the ones I've personally been awarded over my 22+ year career in the USAF. Hopefully they'll end up with a collector someday when I'm gone and not wind up in the dumpster.

    Hi Tony,

    Very nice.

Could you put a name to the medals for the uninformed like me.

    Thank you,

    Don

  4. Flight 1859 you have already posted this twice before. It isn't going to change the fact that it is a masters membership badge for Reichsarbeitsgemeinschaft f?r Berufserziehung im Deutschen Gastst?ttengewerbe which badly translates as the Reich Labour Group for Occupational Education in the German Catering Trade. Despite some similarities it has nothing to do with the SS :banger:

Thank you for the reply.I must have had a senior moment and forgot posting it before.

I told my wife to get a stick and give me a good beating so I would'nt forget.

    Sorry for the mix-up.

    Regards,

    Don

  5. Heres 2 party badges that I aquired today, I got them in a grouping that i couldnt pass on. I'm slowly getting away from the TR items but you know how it is

Heres a llink to the rest of the items http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14538

    Thanks for looking!

I have often wondered if the NSDAP stickpins are held to the same standard with respect to spacing on the L-S on the standard badge. I have 2, one with gold wash and the other with a silver wash

  6. Don,

Its something like "Reichsconsortium for profession-related education in the german restaurant-business" Don?t know, if thats correctly translated, but you will get the idea probably.

Btw, is there a proper translation for "Reich"?

    best regards,

    Gerd

    Thank you.

Hard to believe it's only for german restaurant-business with it being silver and numbered.

I thought for sure it was related to the SS or something. (Long sigh)

    Don
