    1. Hello Rick, Thank you for the reply. Here is the award wich i am asking info on. How can one distinguish iff it is gold, are these Wurttembergers marked ? No names or lists known? How did then for example the number of awards did become known (there where iff i remember correctly about 1300 awarded ? So the former wearer was at least either a Hauptmann or a Major. Does anyone know whatfor where these awarded?, bravery in the face of the enemy or for merit? Cordial greetings,
    2. Hello, I have a few questions on the Wurttemberg Friedrichsorder, especially about the 1 e class with swords. * are they always made out of Gold, or do they also exist in gilded silver? * are there producers known?, iff yes, how can one distinguish the differences between these? * are there lists published from teh recipients? * These are probably only for "Hauptleute & Majors"? Probably a few stupid questions but once in a bit of time we need to expand our knowledge (as im am normally looking at Zink pieces ) Cordial greetings + thanks for the help,
    3. Hello, And here is the very same unknown party member Cordial greetings,
    4. Hello, When looking through my other pictures from this grouping i found yet another nit picture. And who did we find between his comrades? Interesting to see is that the officer in front does wear the para badge as well as the Oberfeldwebel besides him (and that one does even wear a aerial clasp - transporters !!!!!!!!! ). And in the background we do find our glider party member again Cordial greetings, ps: glider troops where quite a strange mix it seems
    5. Hello, He was indeed already of some age => on his shoulderboards we can see the so called "Offz. Anw?rter Litzen", so he was in the running to become a officer. Mayby he was already a HJ member (and later at some function for sure => hence the HJ award) at the early stage of the party + that can also explain his NSDAP long service awards. What awards could rank before the NSDAP long service awards? , mayby that can give a clue into the correct direction? Cordial greetings,
    6. Hello, And here is the ribbon bar in its full glory => let the identifying start Cordial greetings,
    7. Hello, Well here is a detail out of a picture from my humble collection, it does show a (at this time unidenityed) Luftwaffe soldier with a rather interesting ribbon bar. Check it out + feel free to comment as i am curious to find out what the ribbon's on his bar are Cordial greetings,
    8. Hello, Anyone who has this rare badge in photographical content? I know that some KC holders where holders of this one. So feel free to post them Cordial greetings, ps: who those KC holder(s) are is part of the fun offcoarse
    9. Hello, In a previous thread we have seen this rare badge. We have not seen too many pictures arround with this rare thingy in wear. Please post yours in this thread. Here is one to get started Cordial greetings, ps: never mind the head => not that important
    10. Hello, Very nice ribbon bar Is there a name mentioned in the magazine? ( (OMM no. 68 p. 36) ) Cordial greetings,
    11. Hello, Thanks for the reply (please do not call me expert => as i am not some kind of god who is sitting on a clowd and who does know it all. A expert is a person who did make all mistales already once, i do believe that and hope that i still have a lot of space to make some mistakes ) Your A grade badge is a early one, it does bear a low number and i do date it as late 1929 - early 1930's . Thanks anyway for showing these. Cordial greetings,
    12. Hello, Thank you for posting these It is interesting for me to see that the "Bonner Fahnenfabrik etc... " has used 2 types of lettering to mark their products. Can you date the A grade badge?, as you have noted that these are all from the same holder (any name known?) Very nice badges !!! ps: my first name is Stijn
    13. Hi Jaques, Mayby one day?, i have learned that in this hobby on should never say never. Cordial greetings, ps: now i need to find sample boards of these from the other company's (dream )
    14. Hello, And here is the reverse of my beauty . It bears nr. 971, however the former wearer remains unknown towards me at this point (mayby one day it will be clear?) What are the highest numbers that are encountered so far on these badges or at award documents for these ? Cordial greetings,
    15. Hello Wood, Thank you, can you post them here?, both front and reverse? Cordial greetings,
    16. Hello, Thank you Rosenberg, much appreciated to scan the booklet Are there persons who have such badges with maker marks?, so far the following maker marks are known towards me at this point: * D(eumer - L?denscheid) * Steinhauer & Luck - L?denscheid * Bonner Fahnenfabrik - Bonn Any others? Cordial greetings,
    17. Hello, Here is a comparable gem => the enameled birdy's have the same type off crakcs in the wings as your family badge Chris. Cordial greetings,
    18. Hello, Yes i can confirm that there are no numbers to be found on the reverse. It is sad that such pieces have ripped apart (and i am relatively certain that that is still the case today due to simple reasons as ignorance and greed.) Cordial greetings,
    19. Hello, I just realized we had not seen a award document that did belong towards this rare badge => here is one from the personal collection. The person was in the military when the award was bestowed (he was a Silver C holder from 1938 serie's). Cordial greetings,
    20. Hello, Thank you for the reply's, i find it rather interesting to see that the publications in that area have used another name (D grade). As off for the Alphabetical order it was the correct name. A, B, C & D Are there images to be found in that publication or any statistics named ? Cordial greetings,
    21. Hello, Thank you for the reply's and interest in this subject. Really nice. " Guys, since I looked up the fourth in different books and couldn?t find a standard name for it,I searched my original books and found this.... The 4th badge is not a C or silver C,it is a D.I add pics of the booklet I took this info from,on the second you can see also the requirements for the "Leistungsabzeichen D".... " @ Rosenberg: that is some very nice information, from when is that publication?, untill now i never heard of the "Lesitungsabzeichen D". Iff one does talk with Glider veterans or modern glider pilots one is always talking about the Silver C. (because the silver boarder). Iff one is lucky enough to find a Wehrpass or Soldbuch then one can find anotehr array of names , it is a very interesting subject after all. Then again iff we do look at the original award document from these it is called " Leistungs - Segelfliegerabzeichen " check out this thread: where a original document for such one is shown : http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3523 I do assume that the award document has the correct name and that the book has a typo? @ Rick: indeed, no numbers at the back Probably these where numbered when awarded, on the other hand as it is a sales board from S & L and it is known that other company's where also producing these (for example: Deumer - Ludenscheid, Bonner Fahnenfabrik, etc ... ) it is unclear wich ones where officially awarded? all mixed up as bought from the I.S.T.U.S. at those different producers? I have such a example (silver C) from a glider veteran and he does confirm me that he bought such a silver C (have it in the collection) as a replacement for his original lost (awarded) piece. The confirmation does exist that this type of silver C is a replacement type. Rest assured, this one will survive complete as it is Cordial greetings ps: more to follow ...
    22. hi Paul, The badge you referr towards is the so called "Silver C" or in German; Silbernes Leistungsabzeichen f?r Segelflug. Cordial greetings,
    23. Hello, Thank you for forgetting this one => that gave me certainly the chance to obtain this one. Cordial greetings,
    24. Hello, And here is a close up from the maker mark of the S & L company as found on the sample board. Cordial greetings,
