The All seeing eye is a freemason symbol.
also used on US currency today.
The Imperial russian used this symbol on several medals.
In this case the image is the "All seeing eye" of God.

You dont usual see artillerymen wearing swords in the field,
But I think the issue piece pre war was the M1881 saber.
enlistedmen usually had bayonet fittings on the scabbard.
somewhat like the third saber in the pic

Hi,
theres a beautiful Eduard SS Star for sale right now on Collect Russia site.
Lots og good pics of exatly what to look for in a 1900 1910 issue.
Keibel issue pieces were mainly the same in dimensions.
except thiese were a bit flatter in style the Eduard pieces were higher in the center.
There were other makers outside of Russia some marked some not.
Please post pictures of your piece someone may be able to help id maker
I'm not a silver expert but I think russia hallmarked all there pieces.

Newsprint is not produced to last a long time. yellowing will occure within 1 yr or so even if stored in boxes.
Most newswprint being recycled is bleached with a number of chem.
Your best bet is to store originals and see if you can get to negatives, if the agency still prints that way. From the negs you can have a contact PMT. made which will last quite a long time.
You could also laminate the stories but they will still yellow in time.

The crown on the eagle heads and between is a copy of the first Romanov crown worn by Michael Fedodorovich
Gems and gold with a banding of Sable.
The Emblem itself is the State emblem of the second Czar Alexei Mikhailovich.
The Badge is for the St petersberg Archaeological Institute.
