    1. I found this supposed Chinese submarine badge (as they called it) and wonder if it is just mis-labelled or a fantasy piece. I know the Chinese didn't have subs until the 1950s so that's why I'm confused. It is apparently made of some lower quality alloy material and I would have assumed with the sun in the center it would have been WWII era or late 1930s but I have never seen one before. Any clues?
    2. That would be amazing if they would publish the list. I don't mind writing them to find out, but a quick check online would be a lot easier, that's for sure! I appreciate the information! Mike
    3. And heres the last one. I remember reading somewhere that the highest serial numbered ones were never issued and eventually sold off to collectors, but these are all issued medals, I just sadly don't have the names of who they were awarded to. Mike
    4. A brief mention of my Monte Cassino crosses came up so I thought I would post pictures of them. Mike
    5. I guess I'm pleased that I have one of the nicer ones out there. I have spent a lot of time online trying to find another example out there but haven't had any luck. I wonder how many were made. I have a few Polish pieces in the collection (3 monte cassino crosses, home army cross, army active service, etc.) but this is by far the most unique! I was thinking about selling it awhile ago, but I have no clue how to even put a value on it. I suppose I will just hang on to it for awhile. Mike
    6. Here is the back. I am curious if it is just an unissued piece. It looks like the horizontal line on the card in the case was meant to put someones name. Mike
    7. Wow! Great work. I appreciate it. I was trying to upload better pictures of the front and the reverse, but the internet was really lagging and I couldn't do it. I will try again when I get home from work. Mike
    8. This is a very beautiful commemorative medal I have in the collection, but I don't know anything about it, nor can I find anything online. Can someone enlighten me as to what specifically it is? Has anyone seen one before? Mike
    9. I have lurked in the forums for awhile, always reading, but never posting, but decided to chime in with a concern I have. I'm sure a handful of you out there have either recieved or read the Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalog. Some stuff is nice, but yeah, they sell a lot of crap too. What concerned me was they are selling a 10 piece lot of "Chinese War Medals" (see here: http://www.smkw.com/webapp/eCommerce/product.jsp?Mode=Text&SearchText=chinese&SKU=SMRR222 ) I had a handful of these that I acquired about a year ago and discovered that these cheap construction medals were fake. Now it seems SMKW is selling fake medals too. I'm trying to determine if they have worded the sale a little vague so if they are accused of selling fakes they are covered. No where does it say they are "authentic issue medals". All it says is they are "authentic relics", well.....yeah, that doesn't tell anyone anything. And, "ages, styles, and materials vary". Well of course they do. I've been to the store once before and they seemed pretty nice, but I wonder if they would even care to know these were fake. Probably not. Mike
