Matt has a great point!
The only other image for now is this one. Hopefully more tomorrow.

Alex is absolutely correct, but does this increase the liklihood of being an authentic bar?
As always, many thanks for the comments, and please keep them coming. I'll post better images when they arrive.

Thanks Heiko. Obverse.

Hello,
Does this attachment hardware look acceptable? The hook has me wondering. I am awaiting better images of the front and I'll post those when they arrive.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris,
I was thinking the SEHO as well, but wasn't certain.
I see your point about the 'upgrading', and I agree with you. In your opinion, is the Palestine Augflage original? I have no experience with these, nor nothing to compare with.
Thanks

Very interesting local history, thanks!
Here is the Ojibwe burial ground just down from Point Iroquois in the Bay Mills Reservation. What you can see here are the Spirit Houses placed above the graves of the deceased by the Ojibwe. This cemetary dates to the 1800s and contains one of the early Chiefs named Waishkey, who helped found the settlement here. Scott.

Baby's got Back!
What is the middle ribbon?

I bid on the recent Turkish bar and lost big time. It was around 70 Euros wiith 10 seconds left, and you know the ending. There was this interesting "Palestine" spange on another bar from the same seller. Lost this one too, but by a smaller margin.
Does anyone have any opinions to share on this bar or spange?
Thanks

Guys, thanks for your input and efforts. Has the second ribbon been messed with, and if so, what should it have been?

Hello Heiko,
By chance, did you save other images of the medal bar? I checked eBay and the listing is gone.
Best,
Mike

I guess I didn't do enough of a good job to merit the set.
Thanks for the information, Heiko. Too bad the set goes in separate directions. Any chance the owner is identifiable?

I am a very lucky man, I think. I was bought this ribbon bar as a gift for a job well done. The devices look good to me, but the sewing on the reverse looks dicey. What do you think?
Thanks in advance,

Fabulous group. Nothing worse than getting wounded in the head, back, and calf all on the same morning!! :jumping:

I've just seen this post. What a great historical item, congratulations!

BTW, I've asked for better pictures and will upload them when they arrive. On close inspection, the wreath potentially appears to be attached to the left eagle.

As you will have noted, the device doesn't even match, though I can't identify it otherwise.
Thanks again for your assistance.

I know this is the Imperial section, but this is where the device gurus reside, and I am hoping to get some opinions on this 40 year set-up. I was under the impression the wreath was supposed to be suspended beneath one eagle, rather than connecting two eagles. The second image is from Rick's device gallery and clearly there are differences. But could there be variations, or is this setup too weird for comfort?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Sadly, I'm not in the market for this right now, despite the relatively weak Euro.

Rats! After seeing the other post and the Olympic device close up, I want this grouping even more.
Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Scottplen,
Congratulations on your new acquisition. I was at NARA today and I took the opportunity to pull the Missing Air Crew Report (MACR) for the plane. I had planned to scan it up for you, but the original is in very poor condition. The MACR includes mission and recovery specifics, aircrew information, and in this case, a map. If you want, I can mail it to you. Email me at
mjc@westmorelandresearch.org.
For the record, the MACR lists the aircraft as model B24-M6.
Cheers,
Mike

Ribbon Bar Hardware
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States

Well, no more pictures coming since Straube sold the bar within a few hours of posting. What is the general opinion. Good or bad?
Thanks for the help!
