I finally got around to getting a closer look at the Aurich logo on my badge and it isn't a full circle as it appears in the picture I posted earlier here is a close-up of the logo see what you make of it.

I understand what your saying about the logo and I have no explanation other than it may have something to do with a change of dies and a new die-maker that was used on this run of lacquered pins.

As to finding the 4 Fox Hole books goes keep an eye on ebay they show up there often.

I have always thought the use of different styles of enamel was left up to the maker like we find with the party membership badges. Now after reading your thoughts on the subject that makes a lot more sense as you have found there is a definite division between the low and high numbered badges that corresponds with the type of enamel (opaque orange or translucent red) used I like that idea better.

This is part of the Luftwaffenhelferinnenschaft early warning air-defence system. This unit badge was issued to the women responsible for Aircraft observation, identification and direction of aircraft and reporting with the use of radar, searchlights,binoculars and hearing apparatus. Here is a photo of the badge as it was worn.

The top two are for Wehrmacht day celebrations the bottom is for police day celebrations and the round plastic pin is one in a set of 10 pins sold by the WHW to show the use of the swastika as historical decoration.

Nice badges you have there. Don's right Wagner used more then one die-set while making his party badges and each one was a little different.

Here's one a nurse's badge I believe the blue border indecates it's a Supervisors badge.

Here is what I think was going on with this organization. The Mütter Cross was issued to all good German mothers as an out in the open for all the world to see how well the Third Reich was taking care of them. Then you have the Reichsbund der Kinderreichen a little less talked about branch whose members were also married and met the special hereditary qualities of the Aryan race. And then you have the more closely guarded Lebensborn branch overseen by the SS whose members also met the hereditary qualities but were not required to be married to have children for the Reich including the occupied Nordic counties as stated in the Spiegel article.
