Hi,
thanks for the answers.
The man died 20 years bevor the Ottoman Empire ended.
So it probably could be that his decoration was given back.

Yes, he had an intersting carrer.
In the rank of a captain he was the adjudant of the first Generalinspekteur Heusinger during his time when SHAPE was in Paris, later as major and colonel in Tokyo and at least 2nd chief of the MGFA Military Research Insitute MilitaerGeschichtliches ForschungsAmt.

Hi there,
from a man who died in 1903 there is only one of twelve awards left.
For five of six Prussian and Wuerttemberg meanwhile we found out that the regulations said that the award has to be returned.
The man also got the Dutch Order of Lion.
Does anybody know if there was a obligation of return for this order?
Thanks.

Hi,
does anybody knows how many French Croix de Guerre were awarded to British soldiers?
For other foreign soldiers I only found the number of 12000 to US soldiers an OMSA Journal.
Does anybody know more facts?
Thanks.

Hi Peter,
thanks for answer.
Meanwhile I have found one unit who earned a fourragère CdG 1914-18, that means CdG with palm twice.
Section sanitaire automobile anglaise n° 2 de la 72e division d’infanterie ( 15/05/1919 )
Do they wear the fourragere?
Does anybody know the English name so I can make a google search?
I think that several units earned the CdG with stars or only one palm.

Hi,
does the British, similar to the American´s streamer, have visible things on their banners in case they have received the CdG 1914?
