    1. My apologies for not responding in a timelier fashion, I have been away quite a bit due to work lately. The case for the ring is definitely NOT original, its just a case that she had available to keep it in to keep it from getting battered around. Tom63: I think that is some kind of maker's mark on the ring on the iron cross. On closer inspection there is something present on both of them, on the one it appears to me 'MFH' (possibly U or V instead of 'M', lettering is so tiny it is difficult to make out), on the other appears to be 'DOR' (again, possibly 'O' instead of 'D', lettering here is even tinier than the other one). Thank you -Jan
    2. Hello all, I've been unusually busy at work lately so have not had much of an opportunity to reply lately. Thank you for the responses thus far. Regretably, the father has passed on long ago so no idea where exactly he would have come by the medal bar. She's looking to sell the items as she's trying to cut down on her 'clutter', she thought I might have some luck getting a good price for them as well as making sure they ended up in the hands of someone who would appreciate them. If further pictures are needed let me know. Thanks -Jan
    3. Hello, I'm rather new here as I was directed here from the Gunboards forum. A friend of mine from work who knows I collect militaria and firearms wanted me to do a little research on some medals and other items that her father had. As German militaria isn't really my area of interest any help would be greatly appreciated. Mostly she wants to get an idea what the value would be but would also like some help as far as what exactly the items are. All of them look original from my limited knowledge, considering her father was a WW2 vet and accumulated these during his service as well as from friends and acquaintances I've no reason to doubt them. Anyways, I've got some pictures below of some of the items in question and will be posting others in more appropriate forums here. She has two of what appears to be Iron Crosses, am guessing they are WW1 vintage by the '1914' and 'W' with crown marking on one side. Though its not too obvious in the pics, the crowns are slightly different. The one that is more worn has a crown that is more squarish shaped and slightly different than the other. At first I thought nothing of it but the crown looks like it is definitely a different type than the first. Also had a ring that looks like an Iron Cross medal. It is very small sized, barely fits on my pinky. Unsure if this is First or Second World War vintage. Any help on exactly what I have here as well as values would be greatly appreciated.

First is an assortment of what look to me to be World War 1 era medals: If anyone has any idea just what these all are and what an approximate value would be for the whole bar it would be appreciated.
