It looks like one of these http://gmic.co.uk/in...-nsrkb-50-year/ but probably the 25 yr version rather than the 50 yr
And yes he look very much like Hopkins
Cheers
Don
Thats exactly what I thought as well done. The Hopkins resemblance is uncanny

Just a quick update on a similar item. I managed to find a 100% complete "Adolf Hitler" NSDAP photo book (#15 in the series) in a dingy old bookstore basement, total score! The dust jacket is missing and it is a little rough around the edges, but it has every postcard attached inside and some interesting doodles by a German? youth in the inlays. Here are a couple pics.
Later,
Pat
That is a great find, and the hand drawn luger is a nice touch

Hi there
I am wondering if this is the only NSBO tinnie ("Landestreffen der N.S.B.O. Hessen-Nassau Frankfurt a. M. 27. Aug. 1933") that has a mobile swastika. I noticed this the other day, as most NSBO items I have encountered have a static swastika. So is this a manufacturing error??
Thanks

Hi there
I am wondering if this is original or a fantasy piece?
This is the only picture I have as it is from a local website
Thanks

But this one which is a 25 year badge is marked number 4. So I am wondering is a 50 numbered 6??? I have only seen a 50 year badge once and then I was dubious as the details weren't as crisp

Design change or a different grade?
--dj--Joe
That was my thinking as well Joe. But noticed slight differences in the lettering, so I will go for design change

Hi Troy
I know the seller your talking about and yes most of his stuff is "Keep clear" and "beware". There are better places to pick up what your looking for.

Like you Troy I just need the armband and a gold badge to make my little collection as complete as I will be able to do
I picked this up the other week to match the 40 year badge that goes with it.
I personally like the history of the signature as well. The authorizing signature is, "Reichskriegerführer", (National Soldier's League Leader), and "General der Infanterie, SS-Obergruppenführer", Wilhelm Reinhard
Interesting career had he "a highly decorated WWI veteran having been awarded the Iron Cross in both 1ST and 2ND classes and a Pour le Mérite in August 1917 followed by the Oak-leaves to the Pour le Mérite in October 1918 among numerous other awards. During the Third Reich era Reinhard was bestowed an NSDAP Golden party badge on March 22ND 1938, the War Merit Cross in both 1ST and 2ND classes, an SS-Totenkopf, (Death's Head), Ring on October 8TH 1937 and an Ehrendegen der RFSS, (Honor Sword of the SS Supreme Commander), on March 18TH 1939. Reinhard held the position of Reichskriegerführer from March 18TH 1938 until March 3RD 1943 when the position was abolished."

Certainly looks like a hood ornament to me. Very nice present, well done.
Cheers
Don
Hi Don
I have consequently found out that this is a fake. The dealer I brought it off (one of the most respected dealers in my country) was very understandable, when I pointed out what was pointed out to me. Bit of a bugger really, but these things happen.
Oh yeah the signs it was a fake were:
1: The NSBO swas was never on a angle, always displayed the same way. All NSBO items I have show the swas displayed the same way and not on an angle.
2: The angle of the arm is not quite right
3: The casting seam is of poor quality
Told the lovely wife and she understood kind of...

Seasons greetings to you all
My lovely wife brought me this little ornament for xmas. I am thinking this looks like a Car hood Ornament (Mascot) but am unsure, so can someone please help me out on what this is.
The device measures 80mm high, 73mm wide and has D.R.G.M at the base before the threaded section.
Along with this my wife also got me a NSBO stickpin...ahhh got love a women who understands my other passion.
I was thinking of mounting this in some nice native wood with a brass plaque once I know what it was used for.
Thanks in advance

Hi Mel the Kiwi ,
please look at Austria:
http://de.wikipedia....wiki/Leonfelden
and
http://www.mv-badleo...emeinschaft.htm
"Liederkränzchen Leonfelden" (established in 1857) is now "Chorgemeinschaft Bad Leonfelden"
Liederkränzchen = Liederkranz = Gesangsverein = singing society or choral society
Uwe
