    1. If you guys like marks, you'd LOVE Japanese rifles (if you don't already! ) - especially the early ones like model 30 and 38 Arisakas. I truly enjoy documenting the various marks and stamps I find on rifles. I am guilty of NOT examining my medals however, I'll have to try and take some time this weekend and check them out, granted my collection is small. If I find anything "good" I'll try to get some pics.!
    2. AHHH!! I see now, I didn't even notice the 2007 date, I just saw the March. I need to pay better attention! ;)
    3. Hi Paul, I'm clueless as to where these are, couldn't find them in the sale section, obviously I'm looking in the wrong place. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.
    4. O.K., so totally new to collecting medals. Just starting to go over "Orders and Medals of Japan" book so perhaps the information I'm looking for is there and I have just missed it thus far, but I'm wondering about a few things..... I'm wondering what constitutes a group of items for an award or medal. So, it certainly seems that you have the award or medal itself, the box it comes in, and a presentation document at the least. What I have no clue about is: 1) Ribbon Bars - How were these issued? Were they also issued with the award or medal? Again, being so new to this I have yet to see samples enough to even know, but it seems they are rare to find with an actual medal - except in the case of the China Incident Medals, they don't seem uncommon to find with the medal. 2) Wrapping Papers - Again, looks common with the China Incident Medals, but I haven't seen these with others..... (?) This leads me to believe that most awards and medals did not have them, but for whatever reason, the CIM did???? 3) Rosettes - Talking about the separate ones, not actually incorporated into a ribbon - I see these paired with certain orders or medals, and am uncertain of under what circumstances they were issued or to which orders they actually belong?? Were they simply issued as a matter of fact and simply lost over time?? Thank you Gents!!
    5. AWESOME!! Thanks for that link. :)
    6. Excellent! I am a big fan of the Model 30 Arisaka, so I love seeing photos that depict them!
    7. Thank you Paul. I figured it would be very difficult at best. That's unfortunate, it sure would be interesting to learn more about these individuals.
    8. Hello!! New here, and new to medal collecting, looks like a great forum! I'm interested only in Japanese items for the moment. With regards to documents issued to individuals - are there any avenues of research for these individuals like a national archive?
