Hello Dan, the support is a sheet of aluminium and thin plastic, the wood is an exhibitor of vases in miniature.
Smooth it and paint it with a black spray
There uses glue of two components

Dear Gefreiter,
He is a member of a Luftwaffe band unit, an Obermusikmeister (equivalent to a Oberleutnant). The tabs he is wearing are the post 37 pattern.
He is wearing the SA sports badge on his pocket flap and a medal bar with: 1914 EK2, Combattant Hindenburg Cross, unknown and (I believe) a Prussian Long service award.
Reverse apperars to have his rank and name "Obermusikmeister Paul Kutze of the Luftwaffe".
