    1. So here is part two of the pictures I took in the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei City… Order of Auspicious Star
    2. thank you Hugh, there is more to come soon. I just have to make some photoshop work on the other pictures. It was not a easy job to make good pictures through the glass and the guards gave me more than once a very suspicious look after about 30 minutes of picturing and leaning against the displays. and of course I had a big crazy gleam in my eyes.
    3. Order of Merit for National Foundation, First Class (Korea, Presented November 1953)
    4. Order of Brilliant Jade, First Class
    5. Order of the Precious Tripod, First Class
    6. I recently returned from Taiwan and a member of this Forum I felt committed to make some pictures for you Gentlemen. So here is part 1 of the Medals from the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. I think specially now with all the chinese fake medals around, it's interesting to see how accurate and beautiful the real medals are manufactured. so please enjoy… Order of the Cloud and Banner, First Class
    7. an the backside… does anyone have more information about this medal or know how to date them? cheers a l e x
    8. I just returned from a trip to Korea and brought this back (thank you again Hugh & 922F), as I was told it is very hard to buy medals there because it's against the korean law. but with some help of a friend in seoul I could convince the shopkeeper to sell me this piece: I think this is the THE ORDER OF NATIONAL SECURITY MERIT second class breast star according to this sie: http://home.earthlink.net/~dfifer/ this is primarily a military award.
    9. thank you again! I think I post some better pictures here maybe they can help someone out, not buying a fake, who is searching for this medal… a l e x
    10. interesting, i thought most of the medals on ebay, for example, are replica. for instance this one, looks alike the one I posted above: http://cgi.ebay.com/French-Indo-China-Meda...p3286.m20.l1116 the seller describes the medal as reproduction - reproduction and fake is the same thing isen't it?
    11. Hello Can anyone post good pictures of the Order of the Million Elephants (front and back)? I found it so hard to tell real from fake ones. The OMSA site have only the medal front. I think there are a lot of replicas of this wonderful medal. Or maybe someone have more knowledge to tell real from fake? I found this one for example but i have no idea if its replica or not... thank you for your help a l e x
    12. an amazing and beautiful breast star you have! I'm looking for this medal for some time now but they are really hard to find and mostly very high in price. yours is in a perfect condition. I'm to looking forward for some expert to date this. kind regards and thank you for share this gorgeous pice a l e x
    13. there is also a second document, a letter. It is issued by "vincent auriol" which was the president of the republic of France 1947?1954. Maybe someone which is native french can tell me more about this? thank you a l e x
    14. Hello again As promised, here is my document for the dragon of annam. I have no proof that this dokument belongs to the medal I have but they are both ftom the same seller. My French is a bit rusty but it was issued for a second lieutenant of the coast guard (forces c?ti?res) march 20. 1948. The part of the document were to fill in the date of issue is preprinted: mil neuf cent trente (onetousend ninehunder thirty) the last number is left empty 193_ but the thirty is crosed and there ist "quarante septe" (48) filled in, voil? = 1948. So the dokument was originaly printed fot the thirties but sill used in the late forties.
    15. ...and as soon as I have a new scanner I will post the document I have for this medal here. Does anyone else has a doc for the dragon of annam?
    16. @: ccj I currently found 3 dragon of annam medals on ebay.fr: http://cgi.ebay.fr/colonie-Ordre-du-Dragon...93%3A1|294%3A50 http://cgi.ebay.fr/ORDRE-DU-DRAGON-D-ANNAM...93%3A1|294%3A50 and this one look local made: http://cgi.ebay.fr/The-Imperial-Order-of-t...93%3A1|294%3A50 have a good day a l e x

    18. apparently no one have a case for this medal. I now have bought a dragon of annam, I mentioned that there are different types of dragons. Is there any reference about that? Or are these varieties only from different manufacturer? here is mine...
