    1. Curious to see if anyone has any examples or photographs of a Masonic medal called the Jordan Medal.  My great grandfather was awarded this medal for "having belonged longer than any other member."  He was part of the Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 57 A.F. and A.M. in Syracuse, Nebraska.  My father has no knowledge of it and my grandfather is at the age where he doesn't remember.  I am assuming it is some sort of 50+ year membership medal as he was a lifelong member of Syracuse, NE.  Any help is appreciated.

    2. Picked up another QSA today awarded to Pte. E L Morris of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.  Unfortunately he was killed by accident when a sentry with a work detail mistook him and shot him at Bothaville.  Along with the medal is some research, including a Court of Inquiry about the incident and his father asking for more information about the incident along with the return of a silver pocket watch.

The Court of Inquiry summarized "I am of the opinion that No 6473 Pte E Morris 1 Royal Welsh Fusiliers met his death through misadventure and through no fault of the officers in command of the working and covering parties - Lieut. C.R. Johnson R.E., or the sentry who fired the shot which killed Private Morris.  Private Morris was on duty when he met his death."

Pte. Morris is commemorated at the Royal Welsh Fusiliers Boer War memorial in St Giles Church, Wrexham, Wales and the Welsh National Boer War memorial in King Edward VII Avenue, Cardiff, Wales

    3. Interesting picture of a couple during the People's Republic era.  What's odd is the gentleman appears to be wearing Order of People's Liberty 2nd class along with the Order of 9 September 1944 third class and possibly first class (both without swords) but no second class.  He also appears to be wearing the Medal for Participation in the People's Uprising or Participation in the Anti-Facist Struggle along with several others.  The woman's medals are too over exposed to make out.

I've been told the back is hardly understandable, even from others who can read Bulgarian.

      Hi JustinH

You are correct for the Military unit

Can yo you post the medal. Usually this is very common award Document.

However, this one is rare because this is for a medal with a black stripe on the middle and is given to the family of a person who was killed i during the war

This document entitles the son of this soldier to wear the medal.

i suppose some of the Bulgarian members can give us more information regarding the Regiment

Graff, thanks for the reply. The medal and mini that came with the document are the regular service versions. I assume the medals were added with the document. Either way glad to have a mini example.

      Yes, Graf's correct :)

All I can add is that 7th Infantry regiment was part of the 4th Infantry division during the war. However, in the records of KIA's during the Balkan wars, the recipient's father had been logged as being part of the 43rd Infantry regiment which was only formed during the mobilisation.

The person had been killed in the first stages of the war - on 16th Oct 1912 during the largest battle of the war - the Battle of Lule-Burgas, and was buried there (village of Karaağaç, now suburb of Edirne, Turkey).

Lastly, the document itself bears the signature of Major-General Hristo Lukov, Minister of War in 1937.

Ilieff, also thank you for the reply. Is it possible to have a translation of the father and sons names?
