The only problems with this sword is the retaining snap is missing that holds
the sword in the sheath and there is a small crack aprox 1/2 inch long in the
ray skin.

Here is another Katana for review. It is in very good condition with only a small
dark stain to the blade near to where the handle is mounted. It has a brown leather
covered wood sheath. It is COMPLETELY unmarked. no numbers, stamps, or lettering.

I also notice that the anti-spin pin has been removed

.....under the paint it was blued!
I don't know what to think about that. I looked mine over again
and I didn't see any evidence of it ever being painted.
Greg
( WOW-I just realized. This is a Ek variation that I have and you don't
already have in your vast collection--that doesn't happen very often )

That's a nice way to start off the new year
I am currently making payments on it's twin. Hopefully
I will be posting it within the next few weeks.
Nice cross.

Yes,
The cross is not in the best shape but the core is definately blued.

Is this a 3rd style crown variation.

I would like to wish everyone in Imperial a happy and safe Christmas.

I agree with Joe. Core details match scans I have of a Wagner marked cross.

Micha do you know if this type of plate is only to this maker or
have you come across it on other makers crosses. I only ask as I have a cross with the same rear plate but not maker marked
thanks
andy
Andy,
Some of these backplates are marked so faintly
that they can hardly be spotted at all. Mine has to
be held at just the right angle, in just the right
light to be able to make it out at all. Sometimes the
mark is more noticable from the underside or cross
side of the backing plate.

I've got one that is a match to this one except that the makers mark on mine
is so weakly struck that it is barely readable. As is the case with most of these
crosses.
FYI--there are at least 3 different core variations for this cross showing
3 distinctly different crowns.

A nice collection and very nicely displayed.

Here is on that was posted on WAF. It is the same style of 1 piece cross.
Perhaps now that we have seen 2 of these pieces maybe they will be
accepted as an authentic piece.

Steve and Micha --Thank you
When I originally posted this cross I was not just fishing for a compliment. I
actually needed some help. I needed to find out if it was fake or not and weather
or not to send it back. Good thing I posted it elsewhere.

This cross has been identified as B.H. Mayer cross. Pin back
versions of this cross can be seen with the "26" stamp on it.
There is a very distintive die flaw on these that are common to all
original Mayer crosses of this style.

This looks to be a 1 piece cross. I have heard that some of these
were made in solid silver but I have never seen one or seen one posted.

It almost looks like a Godet. There are a number of similarities. The
width of the hinge block. the shape of the pin, the style of the crown and
the date. But there are a few things that are not quite right. The placement
of the hinge is VERY high on the cross. The catch is different and the frame
detail is very week.
I think it is a Godet "wanna be". Original or fake ? I can't say for sure--sorry.

No one has an opinion??????????
This picture shows a little more detail--

This is the first of this style of cross for me and I was somewhat surprised
at how light weight it was. I am guessing this is because the frame is some sort
of cheap TR alloy. Definately a different quality when compared to an
Imperial Godet or Wagner ect.
Thanks for looking,
Greg

Here is the backside. No makers marks. It does have the anti-spin pin and
the disc does not have the dimple we used to see on the early fakes.

Hi Guys,
Sense Steve brought up the topic of TR era Imperial Eks, I thought I
might post this one.
The outer frame is almost mirror like with only a few blemishes
here and there. It is 3 part construction with a magnetic core and
measures 44mm X 44.2mm and weighs 19grams.

I believe this to be an early army NCO sword. Because this is unmaked, is it
just one of the many mass produced factory swords? Any info you might be
able to give me would be great. Any idea of value.
Thanks for your help.
