    1. [attachmentid=62741][attachmentid=62742]I show now a DJH pin. Have a nice day. Robert
    2. [attachmentid=62462]Benten That walking staff device is a real beauty. Have you ever considered attaching it and using it ? To this day I use my Opa's stick (homemade) It was passed on to me and has his name carved into it. Nothing ornate or fancy. A Bauernburger for sure! Anyway I can see no markings on the back of this at all. It has tarnished quite a lot as under the attaching pin and other covered areas it is very shiny. Any ideas as to its' age? The teeth appear to be made of a hard plastic. Thanks for all of your info on this pin. I had no idea what it was for other than the Rothenburg image. Robert
    3. [attachmentid=62177]Well i have never had the pleasure until now of meeting the sister. Very nice! But I still have Rotenburg on my mind. I have no idea of age on this though it appears tarnished silver with a period attaching pin on the reverse. Antique market find.
    4. [attachmentid=62004]The reverse is unmarked. Here's to hoping yours is as well.
    5. [attachmentid=62003]Benten With pleasure. I have yet to find a Braunschweig badge I am happy with. This is probably one of the most copied badges and combined with the diferent variations produced very confusing as well. A nicely marked version you have there. Robert
    6. [attachmentid=61886]I retract my statement about the Munchen tinnie lacking a Haken Kreuz. I just looked and it has one. Would anyone else have an RZM marked tinnie w/o Haken? Anyway, one more KdF for the road.
    7. [attachmentid=61884][attachmentid=61885]The Seefahrt is special. It's an heirloom. These have also been heavily copied which makes yours all the more special. Benten, I am glad you showed your Kdf with blue. I often wondered about my example because of the waythe blue overlaps the parts that should't be painted. Now I see that yours is exactly like mine so this is good. Another town/village/castle here. The interesting thing about this one is its' RZM markings (Wachtler & Lange) but lacking a Haken Kreuz. Kind of like the marked Munich tinnie that lacks it. Without the markings you would be hard pressed to determine what time period it was from. Robert
    8. Don Beautiful shot. Is the building depicted most prominently a private residence or a hotel? Also, was Rotenburg known during TR as a model city and a KdF destination? I beleive I read that somewhere but can't recall where. Hence the badge I have shown. Off the top of your head what is its' proximity to a major city? Thank You Sir Robert
    9. My son and I can do our penmanship lessons together! Have a great day. Robert[attachmentid=61480]
    10. [attachmentid=61465]Gents Would anyone happen to know what the signifigance of the dots in Rothenburg dot O dot T is?
    11. Benten It is exactly 4 metres in length. You are right as it does have an 835 mark on the reverse. Only distinguishable under a loup. Robert
    12. Benten You could very well be correct. Any possible ideas about how this would be worn? I wouldn't think this would be the correct attaching pin setup for the tie? Maybe on the lapel? I have no clue. Robert
    13. [attachmentid=61163][attachmentid=61164] You gents have really shown some nice tinnies recently on this great site. I appreciate all of the helpful links and information that is given so graciously. Much to see and much to read. Anyway, here is the most recent addition. After all of these years, the snow still hasn't melted (so much for global warming) I have thought about giving this one a good cleaning but I don't want to risk losing any more of the snow effect. Keep up the good work and Benten, I am slowly preparing a note for you in my newly learned script. Have a nice weekend all. Robert
    14. Well since you asked, I will vote for, and don't laugh, a sheep expert? I have been fumbling thru my dictionary for 30 minutes so far and this is my guess. Oh Mr. Rosenberg, where art thou? Please check in when you get home from work and help us out. But seriously, the design is so similar to an RLB that parhaps it is related in some way to that organization. Robert
    15. Hello Mike Some very interesting and nice finds you have there. I want to make a guess on your last piece but will wait for others to opine first. Thanks for showing. Robert
    16. And I do see more clean streets. Are people who litter prosecuted or is it a cultural thing whereby you simply do not litter? I see no auto traffic in the photo. Is that then a promenade for pedestrians and cyclists? And also, is the city hall of Munster still in use as an adminisrtative building or a historical site? Sorry if I ask too many questions. Robert
    17. Begging your pardon but I take that back for now. Upon furthur review with a loup and bright light the Crowns are indeed surrounded by a dark red enamel. Still no match to Bentens' red but red just the same. Red flag is lowered for the moment.
    18. Benten Thanks for that link. Eleven virgins would be a lot of work for me at my advanced age but anything would cheer me up now that I notice the three Kings' crowns are surrounded by black enamel. Yours and Dons is surrounded by red which now that I look closely is what Husken shows. Thanks again for that link. Very imformative. My example gets a red flag. Have a great Sunday. Robert PS Anybody doing anything for Halloween? I wonder what Kev in Deva will be doing?
    19. This is something. It appears we are 3 holders of 3 different badges. Benten, would you know the signifigance of the 11 teardrop-like markings are? Do my eyes deceive me or are Eagles all diferent as well? Maybe DJ Joe has one to show. Now we wait. Anybody spot any other diferences on the obverse?
    20. I also forgot to add that my example shows areas of rubbing where it had been worn. Very hard to see in scan.
    21. Thanks for pairing the obverses. It's easier to see the diferences now. When I acquired my example these were few and far between and, similar to Oberbayern badge, I had nothing to use for comparison. Here's hoping others will offer theirs for our lineup and see if there are more discrepancys (sp.) I personally like your example far more than mine. Superior craftmanship!
    22. Don A very nice example you have there. These were suspiciously overabundant at the show I attended last weekend. Other than the fact of their numerical quantity and their "brand new appearance they also had a rectangular attaching plate on the reverse. Oh to have more funds. Buy originals and buy the latest reproductions as well. Don, is there any way you can put our obverses side by side. As I scroll the postings up and down I notice subtle diferences in the enamel work of our badges. It looks like yours was made by a morning person in the morning and mine was made by a morning person in the afternoon!! Robert PS Any other examples to show?
    23. [attachmentid=58504][attachmentid=58505] Gents Staying on the same page, here is my 8001d example. Its a funny thing though. I hadn't had this one out in a while and now it has some green oxidation/growth on the reverse. From the copper content? Any one else have one to show? Or maybe 8001a? I would love to add that one but have been unable to locate one. benten, you can get that book on Amazon. It is a little pricey but a valuable rescource for KdF. A pity shipping is so high or I would gladly loan it off to you. I have already read it thru twice. Any other good reference material on this organization? have a nice weekend. Robert
    24. Don You are probably correct about these. Perhaps this is why they are listed in Husken. I guess the same could be said for Opffering Elsass. A703 Cheers Robert
    25. [attachmentid=58404][attachmentid=58405] Benten Thank You for the info. Have you ever read the KdF work by Shelley Baranowski? It is very well researched. This KdF Berlin is in Husken as well just to the left of the Oberbayern. Thanks Again Robert
