    1. Hi Sergeant 08,

      it is a member's badge, based on Heering/Hüsken 1997 Nr. 4117 c)

      Uwe

Thanks! In the meantime I have already found it in the HH, but I'm not sure it is really a member badge.

Where I can find informations about a German organization which was called "Nationale Front" pre 1945?

We have already discussed it in another forum. Nobody had more informations.....

    2. I did. I had to have it. I'm sorry if you bid on it, but it was unique. It shows the 1.4m kleine Strahlrohr M.1914 very clearly.

I've let other flamethrower postcards go, but I had to have this one. Please don't make me feel bad for buying it!!!!!!!!

      Hello Thomas,

no I did not place a bid.

I asked, because I hoped that you can show us a close-up of the man on the far right? biggrin.gif

    3. True but some of those "others" came with something else that adds to their credibility... 2014.gifrolleyes.gifcheers.gif

I agree, it gives the collector a better feeling. But let me continue the thinking of very critical collectors. wink.gif

It is not an evidence for a 100% real item. Everybody can put a lot together. As you said, it gives the item a better credibility....

    4. Workmanship did not die in 1918... everytime I am in Norhtern Ontario I visit an old lady who belongs to a patchwork circle... a bunch of old ladies who sit around doinf neddlework... any one of them makes stuff more complicated than this.

We all know the dark skills of grannies! Handmade items. You can produce everything with the right materials and a grandmother. That is correct. In most cases you can never be sure, that handmade items are 100% real.

PS: The black skulls are not the only handmade items in collections out there........2014.gif

    5. One mystery solved...

I posted a photo of this guy somewhere in this massive thread. Turns out he was a 1920s circus performer named Gabdin Brons, who had a "Game of Death" and performed "death jumps" (high dives). That's why he wore Totenkopfen on his flying helmet and chest:

The guy who sold me the photo said it depicted some kind military man. Oh well... Let the buyer beware.

Sometimes it takes a little bit of time.

But it shows us, that there is always a chance to find a final answer! beer.gif
