    2. Hello,

Don't know if you can say this ( attached pic) is a piece of art? I only can say it sounds like a mandolin ( using steel strings).

The Brodie was trown away during the Blitz, it was used by a farmer in a horsestable for many many years. When the tractor took the place of the horse, the shell got into the junk.... till I found it. Hope it

      Jef

    3. Hello Wim,

I have been looking into my documentation and found some information written by A. C Borné. I joined some photocopies I have about non official medals. See attachement, n° 37 please.

I also saw your medal has some (privately made?) inscriptions, I attached a scan of the medal in my collection. No insciptions.

      Kind regards,

      Jef

    4. Hello Lambert,

Indeed it's a Belgian non-official medal. The medal also exist with dutch language. In my collection I only have the medal with french text with the same ribbon like yours.. I was told the medal shows the ruïned "lakenhalle" in Ypres.

Attached is a mini. I have no idea iof the ribbon is correct.

      kind regards,

      Jef

    5. Gentlemen,

Recently I bought this pic on Ebay. Pic was taken in the village where I live. Unfortunately there are no buildings in the area. In this way I cannot situate where it was taken.

I was wondering if someone can help me with information about the Germans on the pic who got their EK. Attached is front and Backside.

So far I have not researched the Regimentgeschichte

      Kind regards,

      Jef

    6. Hallo Jef,

No, he is wearing two Belgian Victory medals for sure,

the design of the British medal is different to the Belgian ones

as is the ribbon colour arrangement.

      Please see attached pictures:-

      2 Belgian models.

You are right Kev. But why does he wear two identical medals.... the more medals, the more sturdy?

    7. Hi Jeff, :jumping:

      WOW! :speechless1:

Many thanks to your friend Peter.

Thats a fantastic picture, I see he sports a British War Medal and two Belgian Inter-Allied War medals

but, what is the small medal (last on the top row after the BWM)?

      Is his name known?

      Kevin in Deva.

      Hello again, Kev

Have been looking to the enlarged pic.... and is it possible the good man wears a British and a Belgian Inter Allied War Medal?

Don't think it would have sense to wear two Belgian Victory medals.

      Jef

      Hello Kev,

Peter named the pic De Jaeger, so I suppose his name is De Jaeger.

I believe the small medal is a MBE .

The man might have been a Belgian Allied agent, I suppose. I will ask Peter.

      kind regards,

      Jef
