    1. Hey Rick Research, I would be thankful for any information you might share with me on my queries. I turn to the GMIC when I have exhausted my own resources. Cheers, Dave.
    2. Yes, Rick Research, I do collect things. Since 1968 I have been collecting books on German fighter pilots of World War I and II as well as their unit histories, fighter aircraft, Orders and decorations, etc. Have 2000+ in seven languages. I also have collected autographs of fighter aces of World War I and II all nationalities. Have 500+ American, British,Canadian, and Russian aces of WW II. I have also 60+ Ritterkreuztrager fighter pilot autographs including all Diamonds except 2, and all Swords holders minus 4. I have travelled thousands of miles to meet various fighter pilots of WW II, hear their stories, ask questions about fallen comrades, and to thank them for their military service (irregardless of nationality) and to express my appreciation for allowing me to spend time with them. I would say 65% of the autographs have been obtained by me in person with the respective aces. I feel a true sense of loss when their families or colleagues inform me of their passing as so many are now gone. The last ten years I've concentrated on collecting Orders and decorations typically awarded to WW I German pilots with 47 items including 2 with provenances to Pour le Merite pilots. I recently began collecting Sanke postcards of German pilots having some 53 cards with 4 autographed. I enjoy building models of the various pilots' aircraft then displaying them with their photos or Sanke cards and an interesting Order or decoration awarded to the pilot. It brings them to life in 3 dimensions and color instead of the black and white of a book passage. It gives me personal satisfaction to remember and honor these 'Alte Adlers' in this way. If it sparks an interest in these aviators, well, I know that they won't be forgotten. Best regards, Dave.
